wasn't as sappy as A Walk to Remember, but if you liked that, this is just up your alley. I liked the story and the structure, it never felt too slow to me. Didn't read the book, so cant compare though

Grave of the Fireflies.

Possibly the most gut wrenching movie of all time.

The irony is that when it came out it was paired with Totoro. Of course, Grave of the Fireflies played last.

In a futuristic society where the government requires citizens to stay tranquil and submissive by taking a psychological drug, people no longer have emotions. Because of this, there are no more wars, but there is also no literature, music, or art of any kind.

The reason I say it's boring is right here. The movie just seems slow and lacks emotion. You always see them preparing for the action, but don't really get to see much of it. But like I said, the end scene kinda makes it worth it.
