Saw Trainspotting 2. Started out kind of slow, but I felt it really picked once Renton and Sickboy got together again. I'd give it a 7/10, but I also rate the original 10/10. One thing the sequel has improved upon is Renton's "Choose life" speech, but maybe I just related to it a bit more when he goes honest and personal at the end of it. And the constant teasing of not quite playing "Lust for Life" was a nice touch too.

    Spoiler: show
Choose unfulfilled promise and wishing you’d done it all differently.

Choose never learning from your own mistakes. Choose watching history repeat itself.

Choose the slow reconciliation towards what you can get, rather than what you always hoped for. Settle for less and keep a brave face on it.

Choose disappointment and choose losing the ones you love. As they fall from view, a piece of you dies with them. And so you can see that one day in the future, they will all be gone and there’s nothing left of you to call alive or dead.

Watched Equilibrium finally yesterday. Was neat for what it was. Felt almost like an extension to Fahrenheit 451.

Kubo and the Two Strings. I wanted to see this in theaters but I missed it and ignored it for a while. By the time it came onto Netflix I was over it. I ended up watching it on an off night and I loved it!

I was bored last night and spent like 20 minutes looking for something to watch on Netflix, got fed up and just clicked on Extraterrestrials. Figured if it sucked I'd just go to bed. Turns out, it's pretty great. Without spoiling much, the aliens were very X-COM like.

Watched the Void last night. Sci-fi / horror. Very 80's like.

I liked The Void as well. The characters were kinda "meh", but everything else about it was good.

I liked the Matthew McConaughey character and the animation was great, but otherwise meh and the monkey character was terrible (Theron?)

I'm not big on documentaries, but I'll look into them at least.

Saw Get Out. Was like watching a 2 hour episode of Black Mirror, which I love.

Not sure if anyone mentioned it but 13 Reasons Why is remarkably well done. Given the subject matter I was very surprised to see the show develop and deliver each episode.

All the shitty stuff about it aside, the suicide scene in this was pretty powerful, don't remember last time I actually felt a chill go down my spine when watching something.
