"Vantage Point" 2008. Excellent movie, and the ending perfectly describes the united states in its level of secrecy.

Shawshank Redemption (favorite movie ever, tied with Usual Suspects)

Junebug - Amy Adams is flawless. Only movie I've seen that plays like you're reading a book.

Michael Clayton - Holy shit, George Clooney is amazing in the movie. The dialogue is a little convoluted (not in a bad way) and fast paced, but the ending is amazing.

Just watched the Golden Compass last weekend... can't remember if that one was mentioned or not. Hope i don't start a war between books vs movies.

Second that, it's a great movie.

Bull Durham is a long time favorite of mine, though not really a content-awesome flick. I saw 'Larva' last weekend at like 3 AM on Sci-Fi, god damn it was such a bad B Flick that I kind of enjoyed it.. >_>

I'm guessing Bull Durham is the guy that played the lunatic lawyer? And as well Carmine Falconi from Batman?

    uh... Bull Durham?

It's a baseball flick, pretty entertaining but not really golden cinema.

If you like foreign films, The Conformist is a good italian film. I would also recommend Bycicle Thieves and/or 100 Steps. 100 Steps (i cento passi) is a newer italian movie it's about the Mafia in modern italy. Oh, and Nuovo Cinema Paradiso, is another good movie.

At the recommendation of this thread, saw Boondock Saints...

Fucking amazing, thats all I have to say. A movie I personally recommend is Wall-E, that little freaking robot was pulling my heart the whole movie.

I want to see Irreversible but then again I don't know if I want to... lol

The last movie that really had an impact on me, as in a movie I was still thinking about days after I saw it, was probably Pan's Labyrinth. Brilliant movie, and the ending was beyond compare. It fit the movie so well.

    Spoiler: show
I thought it was beautiful how she had to make the ultimate sacrifice but in reality, paying that price got her the ultimate reward. It's tragic, but then again it's not, and that's what made it feel so right in a movie that was all about tragedy and fantasy intermingled.

Also, I really loved Stardust. I could watch that one scene where Michele Pfeiffer transforms from ugly to beautiful over and over again, so awesome. God damn she is hot for a woman her age, and I don't even like chicks.

Recently watched a few movies I haven't seen before and would recommend:
    Vexille
    No Country for Old Men
    3:10 to Yuma

Movies I rewatched recently that I would recommend:
    Silent Hill
    Masque of the Red Death
    Dark City

    3:10 to Yuma was awesome...

I loved the scene by the fireplace
    Spoiler: show
where Russell Crowe stabs that guy in the neck to death with a spoon

I saw a slew of Disney movies in the past two weeks. As always, love Bambi & Sword in the Stone.

Going to look into those Italian movies - for those who enjoy foreign films, "Marmoulak" is stunning. Iranian film that generated unnecessary controversy - the themes in the movie are gold.

Even though it maybe chavy and very sterotyped, Kidulthood is an insane film, hardhitting and focuses on issues in London like violence drugs and sex, that kinda thing.

Old Boy, for obvious reasons as being simply epic.

If you haven't seen Trainspotting then you really should, it's one of the only films i think can compete with the likes of Pulp Fiction.

And for pure entertainment Smoking Aces is a most watch.

    Sorry for any repeats.

Was reading through the thread to see if anyone posted this. I was really pleasantly surprised with this movie. Some great lines in there and like this dude said, you'll be guessing the whole time.
