    NCAA Football Season 2008(War Eagle)

NCAA football season will be starting in 10 days, opening games are Aug 30.

Most of my interest is in the SEC, so right now, I'm picking UGA to win the SEC East, and Auburn to win the West. Alabama looks stronger than they have in the past few years, so I'm interested to see what kind of season they have this year. Not impressed with the defending national champ LSU, seems like they graduated or lost their core talent from last season. Also interested to see how Tebow and the Gators fare this year.

Who else is into college ball?

Good title for a thread. War Eagle for sure, but I like Florida/Georgia in the East, and hopefully Auburn (though never count out LSU) from the West. My interest spreads across all CFB though.

The bolded part is so lol to me. USC came down to the SEC and got a couple of wins over Auburn back in 02 and 03, and haven't come back to this conference since. I'm so sick of SI and ESPN sucking USC's cock every year. They didn't do jack squack last season.

Also wtf at WV being ranked that low...

WVU will be good as long as Pat White plays good. Devine won't be able to do it all.

USC part yeah, rofl. SEC has been so strong after 2003, and USC won't come back and play the powers of the SEC anymore. They only play Arkansas (who was good that year, but not at the beginning), and such. =p Come play UGA, Florida, Auburn, or LSU prz.

Alabama isn't bad. They could be good this year, and ranked 24th in the AP Poll? First time since 2000 that they've been in the Top 25. Shitty thing for Alabama though is it's @UGA. Auburn at #10 still gets me though. Don't put too much focus on us! Haha.

Also, Melchiah; Alabama played UGA in Alabama last year and it was a fairly close game that went into OT. Alabama did get better, but then again, UGA is good too. Both teams have lost some players to injuries/arrests though. D:

Rofl. Problem with Alabama isn't their talent. They have talent. Will John Parker Wilson have balls this year? Or will he lose them midway like he did last year... that is the question.

Well.. typically, most AU fans don't give a shit about Alabama (except when we beat you guys every year), but I follow almost everyone. I'm not 100% sure of your backup, but JPW is your best bet. I think he'll do better with the new O Coordinator.

Alabama leads the series 38-33-1, but Auburn has won the last six meetings, their longest winning streak in the series. The longest streak of the series was a nine game winning streak by Alabama from 1973-1981.
    12 national championships
Alabama has also recorded 25 conference championships, 21 SEC championships, and holds NCAA records with 55 post-season bowl game appearances, 31 bowl game victories, leads the NCAA in undefeated, untied seasons with 8 seasons of perfect records, and is second behind the Oklahoma Sooners in number of ten-win seasons, with 28. Alabama leads the SEC West Division with its 5 appearances in the SEC Championship game, and has a winning record against every other SEC team. The Associated Press (AP) ranks Alabama 5th in All Time Final AP Poll appearances. With 787 wins over 112 years of football, Alabama ranks 6th all-time in win-loss records in the NCAA.

Noone gives a shit about what happened in the 70's, 80's, or even the 90's. I always cringe when people bring up the "Well, we were awesome 20 years ago..." So was Notre Dame.

I wouldn't call the past 3-4 years the past. If you have to dig up the 70's and collective championships, you're reaching. Despite records...

    Boston owns New York
    Louisville owns KY (in basketball!)
    Auburn owns Alabama
    Everyone owns Oklahoma
