Over the last few weeks I've been having some bad graphical glitches in FFXI. At first they were just kind of intermittent and logging in and out of the game seemed to cure it. But that won't work anymore and I'm kinda stuck with this mess every time I log in. It only starts once I reach the FFXI title screen (the one with all the expansion titles listed). Going through the PoL login screens is fine, as is browsing the net etc.etc. I've tried various drivers from the very lastest release to the original old one that came on my Radeon 9800 Pro installation CD..... no dice.
Here are some screenshots of what I'm getting:

Some areas seem to get worse, particularly zones with trees and little bushes in them. For some reason they make the game go haywire and then I get this:

Of course I have to completely switch off then as even shutting FFXI down makes the desktop all screwy too.
I'm getting a brand new system in the next week or so (on order) but of course I can't put up with this shit in the mean time. If I have to buy a cheap card to tide me over then I will do so. Just wanted opinions on if it is the card that's dying because I've never had one die on me before.
EDIT: I do have a spare graphics card in the house but it is really old. It's a Matrox Millennium G400 16MB AGP Video Card. Will that run FFXI? It's only for a week or so remember.
