Brd question, skill vs chr etc.

I've been starting to look into lvling brd and have looked into how the enfeebs work and such. And I have found very little info on how exactly chr and skill effect the enfeebs.

This is my understanding...

Chr- Effects the accuracy of the song and nothing else.

Skill- Effects the duration of the effect.

I just want to know if this is correct or something more to it?

Skill has nothing to do with song duration. The only things that influence that are instruments. Skill affects buff potency (combining wind/singing).

CHR affects debuffs.

Both affect debuffs.

Instruments enhance the song by a couple ways;
1) Improving the song's effect (ie: Cornette +1 adds a few attack with Minuet), and/or:
2) Extends duration of the song.

#2 happens guaranteed. Harlequin's Horn, for example, doesn't improve Mazurka's speed - only enhances duration. So some instruments only enhance duration of the song.

Both will increase the debuff acc, and they work best in conjunction (disappointing results if you go all-out one way or the other).

A general guideline, at 75, is to get to ~110-120 total CHR, and then stack in skill wherever else it fits.

When comparing pieces individually, if you get close to an equal amount of skill+ or CHR+, you will want to go with the skill+ (example, use Choral cannions+1 (+8 skill) instead of Sha'ir Serawheels (+8 chr)). Another example is Minstrel's Coat vs Errant body (or any other +10chr body). Here, you will want the +10 chr instead of the +3 skill.

Last thing I have to say is, if you don't already have them, HQ light/earth staves will be the single best upgrade you can make for your debuff accuracy.

This is my gf's brd and I've been playing it a lot now that she just hit 75 and is not able to play as much that school has started and made me started wanting to maybe lvl it.

I took her to sky/sea/hnms lately and I'm finding she resists 3/4 of the time on gods and HNMs. I know the feet need to be fix and we have been doing a lot of floor 20s for goliard and I have yet to see a sha'r feet on the ah. Also have been buying Ancient beastcoins I see cheap to get a musical. Besides that I'm not sure what I've been doing wrong. What could I do to fix her brd and when I do get mine to 75 so I wont have so much resist problems(besides the feet and earring).

Has got to be the best piece for merit parties, seriously. I don't merit without it because I hate normal song cast time. I also like casting at nearly 50% :O. It makes merit parties so much easier for me.

Sky gods have 95% resist rate to anything that isn't based in their weak element. There isn't really much you can do for them.. cerb and khim aren't much better, I'm not sure what other mobs you mean but don't sweat resists on those mobs since gear won't change much. As far as gear upgrades for mobs they matter on(speaking solely for sticking elegy anyway), Oracle's Pigaches are relatively easy to get and a huge improvement over RSE shoes and demon helm is a cheap upgrade from turban(if she has no relic hat). Choral cuffs are still better than marduk hands, though Choral+1 are awesome.

It looks good for what you can probably currently get. You should make a seperate setup for debuffs, and one for party buffs. My general rule is to put on CHR until you hit 130 and then stick skill in elsewhere.

I forget what the exact numbers were for song tiers, but x-amount of combined singing + wind skill enhances march. The highest known tiers of march can only be obtained with a ghorn. I think Sylphet (brd queen ) might know this info very well.

I know how you feel . I lend out my NQ whenever a nin forgets theirs at events and I plan to get Alkalurops whenever I get off of my anti-brd mood or if HNMs magically leave time zone (which never happens lol.)
