There was another thread around here somewhere recently, same deal, soloing HNM getting hit for 1 etc, they said it was a private server. Maybe search under "soloing hnm"?

Asheron's Call had a thing like this where you could play the game and haxxor in it but it wasn't online, it just took all the info from the game and let you play it in your own little world. Except at the time I think it wasn't very advanced and you couldn't fight monsters or anything... or at least when I used that program I didn't. Inputting commands like she did (@additem and whatnot) let you change things, too.

Anyway I'd guess it's something like that if those pics aren't shopped beyond belief :D

Why stop there? If you can break rules why not just give yourself Monkey Grip and go WAR/NIN dual-wielding Perdu Voulges.

If it's anything like Ragnarok Online, then it could very well be a private server. I remember the commands (@warp, @item, etc) that GM's were allowed (and players, on some servers), and the @additem command seems to work similarly.

hmm only 6 pages with those 2 words, and only post anywhere close is "solo genbu".
I guess some JP person got bored enough to make a actual working private server, although I heard it wasn't possible.. and the NA project for a private server was long since crapped.

Both NPCs and Monsters spawn, but they have no behavior yet.

The aa fight, those npc's work... I got a screen shot of the event you get after you kill them to (with her killing it) seems a bit more then what projectXI can do from its descriptions. Could be either NA or JP I guess, but theirs no pics of any info on whats being used

It would be nice to walk around in FFXI, I could do some screenshot work or something or fan work without the fear of killing myself or my LS dragging me to Sky etc XD

It definantly looks like a private server to me... but I was under the impression it was impossible to create a simulated-real/private FFXI server since the client essentially runs through PoL first. That, and everything is handled server side so you couldn't replicate how mobs/nps's move/re-act in the game (like WoW P-Servers can)...

yup... that's sort of what I ment up top... I heard the private server thing was scrapped long ago because of those obstacles but I guess not. Let us know if that actually works... (if anything like the above pics!) with npc interaction/combat!

Now if only we could disassemble the scripts that control mob behavior and figure out what exactly was supposed to weaken PW/AV.
