I saved as jpg, so the colors are not as vibrant as they are ingame, and the textures not as sharp. I love those wings but all of the mithra set dats made by that particular person (Chiama) have a chance to crash the game upon gear change and I do not know how to fix it myself. I wish I did, oh god ; ;
Sorry double post, MH goez! This is a jungle MH dat, can be found (somewhere) on FFXIdats like pretty much everything else I have:

There's a lot of potential in re-doing these textures:

Gogogo HQ everything in the game XD
I would so use it too >.> 100% HD space fill {Yes, please.}
As an aside, I forgot how much I abhor the muddiness of the mog house carpet. I went the cheap and easy route this time and "borrowed" a rug pattern from an online rug shop:

haha, that looks awesome dalrath
how do you go about redoing the textures like that?
A lil' dash of Photoshop, Wood Workshop, and a couple of other programs used in tutorials on ffxidats.com (Hex Workshop and ChangeTex)
I don't mess with any .dds conversion. I just open them directly in Photoshop, resize them, redo them, and save them back out as .dds files using Nvidia's DDS plugin.
I guess I could also credit a few years at an art college. *shrug*
Oh, and as for the shield, after I ripped out the texture I resized it and cleaned it up. To get the gold highlights I booted the texture up in 3DSMax, applied it to a planar surface, painted a bump map, shot a light at it and did a render. Then I took it back into Photoshop, cleaned it up, and applied it to every race's shield model in Virtual Reality Studio.
Those HQ .dats are wonderful, I'd love to see more in the future.
I'll keep working on it. Decided to take a break and spend some time playing though. Can only stare at crunchy pixels for so many hours. xD
Using that shield from now on. it's awesome! Would be cool to see the abj sets, homam/nashira, god set, salvage sets made HQ like that ;o
could anyone make some High quality versions of the blu afv2 gear the head looks for the most part the same as the af1 hat. could someone maybe touch up the blue to be darker and put more shine on the top and sides thank you if you could.

Hmm.... I gotta post some of my works later. Then repost them on FFXI Dats...
Just don't post the assless chaps haidate you made for my taru, you perv.
Would be great to see every dat there is HQd, including non equip. Sounds like a hefty ass project though, though isnt there a way to batch import and apply settings in PS at the touch of a button? Im sure just applying a few textures and settings isnt the only thing thats done, but would sure be nice to figure out a way to just systematically go through all the dats, apply stuff, and resave them.
time to break the page
