Been playing around with it, havent broke 500 damage yet. Damage has been steady 300-500 (on EP-DC mobs), amount of TP doesnt seem to be doing much. Tired and going to bed so cant do much more toinght. Didnt play around with different gear sets too much aside from STR, which didnt help much either.

Random fact: Mordant Rime seems to give mobs a gravity effect, quite a few times now during my messing around I've noticed "the lesser colibri is no longer weighed down" happen. Just me (75 BRD/NIN) soloing em, so I certainly can't think of anything else that would be putting the Gravity effect on the mob. I guess it's also possible that the "Slow" effect on Mordant Rime is actually the Grav, or that it's both a Slow and Grav... never saw a "target's slow effect wears off" message happen in any case.

Somebody said ~500 damage but it gives you better evasion due to mob's accuracy got reduced.

Spira >> need you to chain with any lv 2 ws (skill 225/250 ones)

Frostbite > Primal Rend = Fragmentation >> This shows that Primal Rend has Reverberation property.

ok.. i did a few more tests with friends and whatever weapons they had available.

Full Break > Primal Rend = Darkness
Mistral Axe > Primal Rend = Gravitation

it seems to place in the same way as Asurans Fist im guessing..
    hope this helps somehow

Only RNG's and SCH's ws are left untested.

judging from hopefulki's post, Mandalic Stab has a quite promising degree of STR mod.

I wouldn't go saying that WHM csn meele all the time now. If you can't hit the mob, you can't get to to do the ws. You'll still need a hefty amount of meele gear.

I'd allow any WHM to melee those fag birds.

    I was wondering actually...

Because of Tachi: Rana's multihit nature and apparently decent damage would using Onimaru+Rana be a better alternative compared to Hagun+Y/G/K for mobs in merits or weaker mob? Onimaru has a lot more going for better DoT compared to Hagun (83DMG +18ATK +5ACC VS 75DMG TP Bonus, and TP Bonus doesn't seem to aid Tachi:Rana all that much so it's really just 75DMG) and pair it up with Tachi:Rana's damage... I think Onimaru+Rana would be a better choice no?

I'm sure Hagun Y/G/K would be the ideal for HNMs and harder monsters, but would Onimaru be that much worse compared to Hagun? It's making me think about whether or not to keep or sell my Hagun right now, haha.

I'm hoping I'm at least a little justified here.

From what I saw last night adding TP did in fact lump a good amount of damage on to Rana, 2-300, seemingly at least enough to warrant Hagun, but I didn't really see a side-by-side comparison.

2-step self-darkness is fuckin broken, btw.

I would agree with your logic, Rionel, assuming that the Hagun does not add all that much damage because the melee DoT with Onimaru is significantly better and so if you could take even a small WS damage hit you'd probably do more damage in the long run.

Sooo...any PUPs been actually using and can attest to the yay/nay aspect of Stringing Pummel? I was almost worried about it after the OP but but I don't see any actual data anywhere...no offense but it kinda irks me when people just assume stuff with no testing or anything.

Oh! I'd also like to ask to whether or not Leaden Salute/Trueflight use up bullets? It's weird, but because they're purely elemental, it makes me think that bullets shouldn't be used up for the WS. What's the deal about that?

Hmm... I suppose some Onimaru VS Hagun testing will have to be in order. Perhaps Hagun still reigns King even with Tachi:Rana? Though it confuses me since apparently TP Bonus only procs on the first hit of a WS. Would it really be 200-300 more DMG from TP Bonus on a multi hit weapon? I'm just wondering here.
