    Ni No Kuni | Remastered (PC/PS4) / NQ (NSW) - September 20, 2019

Level-5 has announced a new game called Ninokuni for the Nintendo DS in the latest Famitsu magazine. Its release date is scheduled for next year in Japan.

    - The animation in the game is all by Studio Ghibli.
    - Level-5 's first 10th Anniversary product.
    - There will be a book bundled with the game filled with information on various magic crests and spell recipes. This 'Magic Master' book is something that the main character in the game has, and the player will need to refer to from time to time while playing the game.
    - There will be a console version of the game, but the hardware is not decided yet. [o.O]
    - They want the console version to offer something different for people that have already played the DS version, the selection of the hardware will be based on which is most suitable for this purpose.
    - The exact same book will be packaged with the console version as well.
    Some screens here:

    And some larger images here:

I would HOPE that with the success of Ghibli here in the states, its relationship with Disney, and Level 5 generally releasing some of its more popular games in the states (the first Layton) that we see a release.

Knowing Ghibli's 'general' target audience i wonder just how 'kiddy' this game might be, but damn if i am not excited about this partnership.

I still dream of a Nausicaa game =P

This game looks pretty amazing. It looks like a ton of effort spoiled on just a handheld title though. They could do so much with this on a console.

    Well they did say:

    - There will be a console version of the game, but the hardware is not decided yet.

The needing-the-book thing kind of reminds me of the days where you needed the instruction manual or a code-key handy to actually play the game you purchased back when games fit on a single floppy disc as means of copyright protection.
(unless your friend didn't mind photocopying the entire 80pg'ish booklet)

They had a picture of what the entire package would look like on Kotaku a while back, and the package looked awesome, but the book is really large, which makes me question why you would choose to put a book that big together with a DS game.

As cool as this sounds, I buy games on the DS for portability, mainly, and I don't know how I'd feel about having to carry around a hard cover book that's about 3 times the size of the DS in order to play the game.

Kotaku posted a trailer today as well, which looks pretty much unfuckingbelievable. This is quickly becoming one of my most anticipated games of all time:

That looks fucking sick. Been wanting me an HD game that looks animated (where the fuck are you Sly4 >.> ) for the longest time, and this looks to fit the bill.

Just hope the battle mode has some depth, as shouting commands to your pet thing reminds me of Pankration, like a weaker Pokemans. ;/

DS version features you drawing patterns to cast spells during battle to help fight. People are speculating that the PS3 version might support Playstation Move to do something similar. From what I remember you get a spell book with the game, which teaches you which patterns do what.

    Nothing announced yet though.

Before seeing the trailer, I was kinda worried that this game might just look good, and be lacking in gameplay, but yeah, really looking forward to it now. Looks amazing.

    I AM VERY EXCITE!

Can't wait, well... i may have to if this isn't brought over. I can only hope that Disney's relationship with Ghibli has something to do with it. That and the new Level 5 Headquarters for 'overseas business' opened in January. Well I have hopes that I will see a NA version.
