Seems the scammers are moving into TOR territory now in addition to the WoW emails.
Some worthwhile info from past weeks Friday's update, including todays.
Sith Warrior progression from today, along with Jedi Knight progression from a couple weeks ago.
In addition, over the past weeks/months Bioware has been developing the final UI, moving away from using the temporary development one that has been seen up until now. Today's blog post talks about that, and how they were able to reach what they have right now.

Here is a larger version of the image (its huge)

This is what they have right now, probably similar to what the UI will look like when the game ships, with some minor changes between then and now i'm sure.
Also theres this to go along with the UI.
Last but not least, something we can't convey in screens is that we have subtle but (IMO) pleasing sound effects associated with the UI that really make the game experience feel more Star Wars-y.
Another blog post, this one from a few weeks ago, highlights and talks about all the advanced classes a bit and what role they will play, along with how game testing has influenced those decisions.

Heres a quick reference for all the advanced classes and what role they are, taken from the blog.

Finally, the game is still in game testing, not really large enough to be considered beta i don't think. If you are selected i believe you will have a set window of a few weeks to test the game, but test groups are still very tiny.
Release window is still 2011. It hasn't been refined down more than that at this point.
The updates were nice, particularly the UI one. Nice and detailed for all of us to see and the evolution of it was cool to see as well. Still hopeful and looking forward to this one big time.
I actually really like the soundtrack they have for that Sith Warrior video. No idea where thats from, whether its Lucasarts/Bioware's or not, but its awesome. I'd be really happy if thats unique score for the game though.
Taking apps for this now. Looking for players and maybe leaders too. Gonna shoot for end game stuff with semi-hardcore approach. Guild will play republic and be pve focused with pvp mix out of the gate, but will be up to the whims of the players ultimately. Will take BGers with good rep. Do the app as a formality/introduction thing if interested . IGC offers all the usual stuff like forums, teamspeak, other games, like a gaming community would, but each chapter has majority unique memberbase; not a shared one. Hit me up if interested.

What is the point of having that if I may ask?
The app? Just so we know a bit about people before invite.
Nah I mean making a global MMO group thing, how are you managing 4 guilds. If you aren't the leader of them, what is the point of the whole global guild thing?
Probably more a question to ask in PMs but haven't you ever just wanted to be around other gamers? It's fun just to manage it for me. I may not lead all the guilds but I am involved in all of them in some way as community manager. Players in the community can swap between guild too so essentially it's an easy way to always have a group of friends on a game you want to try or jump into without having to look any farther than your own community. It's really nice having a place like that to call my online home. You meet so many interesting people too. So I guess the 'point' is different for everyone, but that one's mine . Feel free to PM if you have more questions. We should probably keep this about TOR.
From the preview videos they've released, the animations - especially for Force users - seems rather choppy and and mechanical compared to other games. Is it the same way in the game, or is it just something that results from the resolution setting they have for the videos? For all its faults, FFXIV has beautifully smooth animation and graphics, and going to most other MMOs with lower end graphics just seems painful to me.
Anyone else played the alpha of this? We have had access for awhile...feel free to PM me for my opinion. Seems if I post it, I will just get banned for 24 hours.
Nothing to do with that. Every time I see a movie/TVshow/etc and give my opinion (if its negative) I get a 24 hour ban. It has only came from the Entertainment Weekly section, but still. Kind of lame how people who have been around for so long could get suspensions for such nonsese. If something sucks, people should hear about it. I usually try to just tell it how it is.
I think we all know the game sucks (lol), your opinion won't be anything new to this thread. This game has carried the stench of "fail" for a long time. But ya, that sucks if you have been getting suspended or w/e for voiceing negative opinions. Doesn't sound right (i'm no mod though)
I played the alpha. I wasn't very good, although afterwards they had a meeting with the developers and invited anyone who played to attend and give opinions. since i live in austin me and my wife went. Consensus was basically everything about the game was crap except the story lines and biowares voice acting capabilities(which were both great).
So what kind of hope is there for the game? There's a lot of posts on the official forums, but I'm wondering just how well they're listening.
Wait wait, so you have bounty hunters with... healing darts and rockets? What is a healing rocket? Anyone?
I have no idea~!! Its been driving me nuts since I first heard about it. Forget crafting lore around it; HOW THE FUCK DO YOU CRAFT LOGIC AROUND A HEALING ROCKET? What the hell?
