And they're off!
Yah, The Official Forums are kinda horrible atm. But I'm actually rooting for the complainers. This game is sooo very flawed, buggy AH/Servers, Its raped Character Customization, its just very Vanilla. A game I'd expect to be called "Diablo 1", Not Diablo 3. It feels like a generic Diablo Clone that did everything wrong.
Runes(as in D2), Jewels, Charms, all left out. Diamonds/Skulls Removed, Skill Tree/Stat Allocation stripped. the game is pretty watered down.
I mean, its very fun. I like playing it, But i feel once i hit 60, I might not want to play it as much. Honestly, they should add a Merit Type system like in FFXI, Once you hit level 60, after some exp, you get "Merit Points", That give you the opportunity to customize/improve skills, (Like in Diablo II), as well as 2-3 Stats to allocate as you wish. Adds some variety/diversity amongst level 60 players, as well as appease the D2 fans who loved the Customization of Diablo 2.
Then again, the game is in its very early stages, Even though it feels like they left out more than they should, They'll probably add it at a later time. I just hope they bring back Charms/Jewels... Maybe that'll add something nice to customization. Just feel Charms/Jewels should have been in the game from the beginning...
A friend of mine put it best. Inferno is not fun, and it's the only endgame right now. Inferno is designed to be way too "You get hit you die" oriented, which means that all the game is kiting. Worse yet, only a handful of builds are even useful. This leads it to play less like Diablo and more like an MMO, and there are MUCH better MMOs out there. It's just not fun.
Customization is definitely an issue. Certain skills are just plain mandatory for survival. I think over time that will hurt the game the most. In D2 you could create any retarded combination of skills to be as unique as you want your character to be, and you'd be able to play the game from start to finish with no real hiccups. Int based "Singer Barb"? No problem. Dex based fire arrow Sorc? Go nuts. There's no crazy builds in this game. Just a mess of skills and runes that you never end up using because the game doesn't allow you to.
Honestly, My biggest upset was learning Stat Allocation and Skills were completely watered down and completely devoid of any customization or diversity amongst jobs.
I also found it infinitely funny that an achievement is to have 2 Level 60's of the same job when... there is absolutely no single reason to level 2 60's of the same job since there is no diversity or difference in any level 60 characters base stats or skills. Which is why i recommended a Merit-Point type system... Some customization... any at all would be lovely.
Those pants.... holy fucking shit
Perhaps, I actually understand the appeal some people have with auto-allocated stats, But I think a nice happy middle ground would have been great... Auto-Allocate the normal ~8 Stats it gives(Generally +1 +1 +3 +3), and give us a Bonus +2 per level we can put anywhere... No one would have issues with that eh? +10 Stats per level seems fair.
Also... Softcore/Hardcore... I suppose that makes some sense actually.
Heh, looks like I either got really drunk and threw all of my gold away before logging out or got hacked and they took my ~200k in gold and left all of my equipment alone. Not sure what that says about my choice in gear lol.
Checkt he AH to see if you tried to big on something?
Also, Act 2 Inferno is insane..i am not even a paper-cannon, i am a wet cracker popgun.
lol... that would be kinda funny. "got hacked... all money is gone, gear still completely intact."
Could very well be a less risky way of hacking. The original hackings just logged in and traded stuff with the player, Which kept their names in the "Last with" Logs... Which means you could identify and get the hacker banned/watched.
They could simply put up a really shitty item for 200k, Make you buy it, They get the money, then they toss the item. Check your Auction House Bid history if nothing else.
Nah, nothing in my AH history related to it. No current bids, no big buyouts.
And my gear is hardly great, but you'd think they could find at least a few items on my account worth stealing lol.
Spoiler: show
Holy shit. All of the thorns comes from the pants?
How do you even steal JUST money?
hmm i've had 3 friends get hacked so far pretty similarly. whoever's been hacked here: were you guys using authenticators?
Nah. I don't have a smart phone at the moment unfortunately. Definitely a hack though, didn't realize it when I first posted but I was logged in to act 1 normal, presumably to give my gold to a level 1 toon. Just can't imagine why they would leave all of my gear intact... hell, my body armor alone has 700 armor, I think 100 VIT and 350 life regen lol.
My guess is these people attacking non-authenticated accounts are doing so in such great numbers that they just quickly take all gold, while I'm sure glancing at some gear before quickly getting onto the next login
they probably have a bunch of dank 32% stormshields already and don't want your shit. Or in their haste, perhaps looked over a good piece and be glad it's only gold.
i'm not rich guys, but i bought 2 d3 authenticators for $13 $6.50 x2 just do it. /nike
