Final Fantasy VIII (8) - Question about special cutscene on different systems?

I was told at work today that if you play FFVIII on the PSX (Gen-1) and PSone (Gen-2) there are certain different cutscenes shown within the game?

Is this true or horseshit. Only thing I could find was this on youtube.

I call BS. I played FFVIII prolly 5x and never saw anything different. Any difference would have to be on the CD's, nothing has to do w/ the console.

Have you played 8 on both the new psone and the old brick psx? just wondering since thats the only way from what I was told.

I recall starting up FFVIII a while ago on my Brick PS2 and never saw that CS.

Pretty sure it's a tech demo or some such. No reason why Squall and Rinoa would be dancing alone. Could be an early build of the Dance Cutscene too.

The game was made before the psone was released, so unless they added something on the Greatest Hits re-release I don't see how this is possible

The PS2 technical demo is real though, they did this and I think dragon quest when it was still in pre-release stage

Yes, that scene was in both - its in Balamb Gardens during the graduation ceremony. Only reason why it looks diff from the released version is cause it was a tech demo and was later edited for the game.

Yeah, it's a tech demo for the PS2. I remember reading about it when the PS2 first came out.

Yes, there are a couple scenes that can differ in this game depending on how you play. Very small things though, like the all out brawl at the garden depends changes differing on how much you use Rinoa and that cheesy music quest are the only two I can think of though.

But that video above I thought was just the demo for the ps2.

dude this thread wanted me to play it again, but when I opened it up disc 3 is missing (I've moved maybe 4 times since playing it last so I have no hope)

Forget its name, think it was only available in Japan. Was the minigame that let you power up the Choco "summon" in-game.

I rebought it after I moved out to France because disc 3 was nowhere to be found too. You could always just download it and play it on an emulator. I'm sure as hell not dusting off my PS1 to play it.

Yeah, a portable chocobo minigame you could play seperate from the game, then you could connect it with the PS and you would get all the items you found.

My PS2 stopped reading PS1 discs a looong time ago. My PS3 can play it now that I think about it though, I'll probably still end up playing it on my laptop since I can just sit in bed whilst I play it anyway.

You could always just download it and play it on an emulator.

Tried this before and fucked up badly, have any links for a good ROM? also a half decent emulator would be nice, the one i have atm is a piece of crap.
