Trailer is good, I dont know why but I want to see this movie really bad.

Walt Kowalski is a widower, grumpy, tough-minded, borderline-hateful, unhappy old man who can't get along with either his kids or his neighbors, a Korean War veteran whose prize possession is a 1973 Gran Torino he keeps in cherry condition. When his neighbor Tao, a young Hmong teenager, tries to steal his Gran Torino, Kowalski sets out to reform the youth. Drawn against his will into the life of Tao's family, Kowalski is soon taking steps to protect them form the gangs that foul their neighborhood.

I'm guessing the naming the character Kowalski is an homage to the 1971 movie 'Vanishing Point' where the protaganist, Kowalski (no given name ever revealed), drives a white '70 Dodge Charger across the American west toward San Francisco.

Pretty awesome road movie by the way, and it's got an awesome soundtrack with some great funk, rock, and R&B.

So I actually watched the trailer; looks like it could either be quite enjoyable or totally rubbish.

The other thought that came to my mind was "this is what would happen to Red Foreman (of That 70s Show) if his wife Kitty died." Red's already a serious misanthrope with a good old conservative Americun' ass whupping attitude. They should have just asked Kurtwood Smith to star in it
