Im guessing because Super Saiyan is the higest pinacle a pure Saiyan can reach, and it was extremlly hard for one to transform in to it, that only a few have ever done it. And after seeing them transform in to them by will and with no trouble at all he was a bit astonished

I never watched Dragonball past the first 40ish episodes of the original anime (got bored lol) but I enjoyed this OVA, it was great.

He knew they killed Frieza, I'm assuming he already knew Goku was, but probably didn't know that was Goku til he transformed.

That does explain it. I dont get how the scouter thought that the saiyans were weak when thier pinky fingers can take freeza level guys out but at this point its just over analyzing an awesome little anime short.
This "movie" makes ya remember why you used to like dbz in the first place despite all the crap everyone likes to make fun of about DBZ.

Yeah, no point at all trying to look deep into the story-line. The DB universe itself is full of plot-holes galore but no one really cares for them, its all about the characters and fights.

Yeah, well considering this is the first DBZ related anime feature made in about 11 years... it was fantastic. I loved the cleaned up animation, much like the video game opening animations.

Opening was full of nostalgia, and loved the updated images.

they can hide their power levels. that much has been stated in the anime/manga.

true but when you get into the buu saga they talk about gohan and others having so much god damned power that it's impossible to completely hide thier power levels. They can still make it lower but they still have so much leftover and unhidden that it's obvious they can break shit. It's been a while though so i could be remembering that stuff wrong.

Well I don't think he was focussing his scouter on Gohan or the others moreso than Goku. Then again, it generally picks up the "strongest" power level, so who knows? Maybe they figured out how to hide it better. Who cares though. It's effin' DBZ man. Throw out all the rules! haha.
