I'm leveling my rogue as Mutilate/Sub and am wondering where I should put my next points on the way to Prep. Current talents
Is Serrated Blades a noticeable dps increase for leveling (no Rupture)? Setup looks alright because it may help me out of multi-mob jams with Evasion and crazy CP generation. Initiative would assure I'm at 5 CP even if Mutilate doesn't crit, but honestly most mobs don't survive a Cheap Shot and 4 CP Kidney anyways.
So, I guess it's Serrated Blades or Setup. Any ideas?
Use TourGuide and TomTom for leveling. They both make a huge difference.
If you plan on switching to Frost at any point there's a good talent build here:
Leveling Frost
I've got a level 8 Mage decked out in full heirloom items waiting to be leveled but I haven't had any enthusiasm. Part of the reason for this is that I used to have a level 70 Mage on US servers and almost every moment of leveling it was horrific. The EXP system has been improved massively since then and the likes of TourGuide and TomTom exist too but it was the leveling as Frost that killed it for me. I can't even put into words how tedious it was to do so yet a voice in my head tells me that I'll be hurting myself if I don't do it again now. I like the concept of Fire and have no interest in Arcane so it'd be as that. Has anyone leveled as a Fire Mage and had good experiences?
tl;dr - I want to level my Mage eventually but Frost is tedious as fuck; does anyone have objective experience as leveling as Fire that makes a strong argument for it?
Ah Russta, I feel exactly the same about frost, I refuse to play it. I've levelled an EU mage to 70 and NA mage to 80, both of which I used fire spec on. It's really fun, just not so much aoe, you'll just pick a single target and it's dead by the time it reaches you.
Pick up Blast Wave and Dragon's Breath for extra CC, a knockback and disorient respectively, both of which buy you enough time to get that next fireball off. They're pretty effective in PvP too.
I've only used Frost so far and it's pretty damn tedious.
Aren't all specs tedious? Leveling wise, you usually use the same rotation over and over again. I'm leveling as frost atm, and I hate it as much as I hate leveling anything else.
I suppose. Maybe I just don't get along with casters as I hated leveling my Warlock too. I've really enjoyed everything else I've leveled, possibly due to the unpredictability of it. Frost has basically zero (or at least when I leveled it). There were no procs, nothing random that could come of the fight. You just killed it without taking damage, moved onto the next one and repeated it many hundreds of times. I never felt like that on my Fury Warrior for example.
Hot Streak + Pyroblast is pretty fun
Make sure you train your newer skills every 2 levels. Might be really obvious but sometimes I level too fast and 6 levels later I remember to go into a city and train.
I always check wowhead/thottbot to see what I get and if it's worth going to town for.
The first Warrior I ever leveled was REALLY bad. Like, I'm talking, Arms with two weapon specializations, leveling all the way with a sword 'n' board, splitting off into two different trees. I know we were all clueless back then but it's still embarrassing to think about. I promised myself that one day I would level a Warrior twinked out the ass... and I did!
Jenkem was leveled from 1-70 full potted and buffed every step of the way (Felwood was hilarious). I leveled as Fury and dual wielded CrusaderedThrash Blade with Flurry Axe, all the while backed up with Edgemaster's Handguards and whatever other excellent items I could buy or get from an instance boost.
When I think of leveling another class, I always feel the urge to level another Paladin or Warrior. I have absolutely no idea why as it's a pretty stupid idea.
I lvled as a fire mage.. you just kill stuff before it ever touches you. Never liked the "run around and blizzard aoe mobs" frost style, seemed at times suicidal, dangerous and alot of effort. On a pvp server its just asking to be ganked imo
So wowwiki doesn't mention it, did they change the relic in wintergrasp to be instant capture? Because twice this weekend we lost it within split seconds of the door collapsing; there's no way someone was in there the full 10 seconds.
Wintergrasp has been instant capture for quite some time now. All you need to do is click the orb, and it's yours.
On the subject of Wintergrasp, should I get Platinum Disks of Sorcery - Item - World of Warcraft or Titan-forged Rune of Alacrity - Item - World of Warcraft first?
I'm playing arcane at the moment, so haste is pretty sweet. Will I see more benefit from the almost 100 resilience or popping out of fear etc? idk
