Fantasy Football Playoffs Thread

Well I figured since most leagues are now entering into their playoffs this week, we should have a playoff thread since now it's about the money. So here's what I've got. In two leagues my playoffs start this week. One league I'm the eight seed playing the first and the second I'm the fourth playing the fifth. Here's my first team along with who I am leaning towards starting. In both leagues we start team QB's and a WR/RB flex position.

In BG east, I've won 5 of the last 6 after losing the 5 previous games. I've nudged into the last playoff spot with one week to go. The team isn't anything special, just really lucky.

I wouldn't start the Packers over the Jets in that second league personally, at least not this week. There's always a good chance for plenty sacks when you're playing the niners, and the Packers are playing a team with a running game

current standings in the IDP league I'm in. 5-way tie for first, with half the league within a game of first place. it's gonna end up being an interesting two weeks leading up to the playoffs

I have a Fantasy Bye week this week. I'm glad cause Portis is kinda hurt, and hopefully this will by me time.

Alright, so in BG West, with injuries and Jason Garrett fucking me over the past 2 weeks, I'm still in control for a play off spot. I get 3rd seed with a win and Archibaldcrane loses. I get 4th seed if I win or Archibald wins.

I think I did that math right.

Anything regarding Jake Delhomme is destined to fail. Run far, far away from that one, I would personally start Culpepper or Shaun Hill versus the Steelers Defense rather than start Jake versus anyone.


As for me, the Orton train is about to bring it on home.

The problem is that while Delhomme isn't going to exactly put up good numbers, my only other option is fucking Rosenfels who throws two picks for every touchdown he throws. Jets going against San Francisco kind of worries me since they do have Gore. And it's not like Green Bay won't end up picking off Rosenfels at least twice. But yeah, my defenses are a bit suspect to say the least. And trust me, I don't WANT to start Delhomme. It's just that I don't trust Rosenfels enough to start him.

Wow, I see your problem now lol. Delhomme it is, unless Rosenfels gets style points for spinning like a helicopter and fumbling.

Hmm, there are a few options out there right now though. Dropped Rosenfels and picked up Tyler Thigpen. Still leaning heavily towards Delhomme, but I may go with the rookie. Also picked up San Diego's defense since they are playing Oakland this week.

Yeah, Thigpen vs the Broncos Defense should be a pretty good match up. Especially considering his mobility and making plays in and outside of the pocket. I love Carolina but I just don't see Jake doing it. Gaines Adams and that line will be on Jake like white on rice.

Rushing throws, Jermaine Phillips, Ronde Barber and Phillip Buchannon and them will pounce on any and all errant throws to his tunnel vision to Smith. If Jake remembers his check downs and that there are 4 other receivers on the field then we should win, then again we fans haven't seen that since week 1 and 2 when Smith was suspended.

deangelo williams has been on fire lately but im tempted to sit him vs tampa. could replace with ronnie brown, reggie bush, eddie royal, or chad johnson. blehhhhh

Yeah man, Tampa is a whole different monster, but our O-line is HUEG and he should score twice if nothing else. Then again, I can see Tampa stacking the box and making lolJake beat them with his arm. Taking Deangelo and Stewart away is the recipe to curb stomp us into submission until proven otherwise.

In which case forcing Jake to play top notch will result in a loss.

I would opt to call on Matt Moore.

My prime concern as to why I'm not starting Tampa's defense is the tandem of Stewart and Williams. I have no doubt that the secondary will give Delhomme fits but with Stewart and Williams running the way they are it makes me a bit uncomfortable. Which sucks because Tampa Bay has seemingly returned to the defense they had when Dungy was there.

10-3 team in Weltall's league. Replaced the Dolphins with the G-Men, and swapped Marion Barber out for now with Colston.

Also, I'd go with Tampa Bay's D if I had em. Did you see what they did to Adrian Peterson in the second half? Sure, he ran all over them at first, but they adjusted and he did jack shit in the second. That and it's hard to score a rushing TD.
