Are cheeseburger Doritos ever coming back?
another question about nippon
anyone have experience with converting currency? only card i have is a chase debit card (prob bringing 1k to spend), what is is the least likely way i won't get screwed out of fees
been hearing conflicting advice from professors and friends
I converted all of my money at the Narita airport and only used ATMs when I had to. I used my USAA credit card when possible as the fees weren't as bad as Chase debit.
Also you need to contact Chase and whoever else ahead of time to let them know you will be out of the country so your card doesn't lock.
Does anyone know what the required time between calibrations is for the radar devices used by cops in Florida? I just got a ticket for going a speed way over than what I was doing, and the gun was calibrated just shy of 6 months ago.
I dunno Florida specifically, but that information has to be publicly available. In VA, I think they have to calibrate every day, but that's a guess going off of a court thing 10 years ago, I could be way wrong.
Also, when I had to fight mine or lose my license, when I got my speedometer calibrated, the guy coached me on what to say, that I should refer to it as "improper equipment" (which was the step down charge from reckless). It didn't matter why it was wrong. You're basically trying to give the judge an out to give you a non-moving violation and avoid points.
Well, there's no equipment on my part being faulty. I was definitely speeding, but he said he clocked me going 20 over when I was really doing 5-7, so this crap is sketchy. seemed like he was going for quota too, pulled someone over right after he was done with me.
Apparently AAA can do currency transfers of up to 1k with almost no fees. My friends and professors are suggesting I bring ~$200 worth of yen over and then like 4x$200 traveler checks to convert while I'm over there. And just to make sure, you wouldn't happen to be familiar with the name Nagase, would you? <.<;
I'm 96cents short of qualifying for free shipping on Amazon and don't feel like spending much more. What should I get!?
A spare cable of some sort. HDMI cable, maybe a cable converter. Only a couple bucks.
good idea! extra hdmi cables are always handy.
Now I just have to find one that Amazon actually personally sells.
edit: comped out. Asked my mom if she wanted anything.
My brother, for the past few weeks, has been really depressed about the state of his relationship with his daughter. I know all the signs because I too suffer from severe depression and a lot of what I've seen him posting on facebook have been feelings I've had myself at some point or another.
Basically, his ex is an awful person and collects the check but won't let him see her. He got to see her yesterday for just a few hours and he was overjoyed, but the following ensued (spoiler for long):
Spoiler: show
My questions are these:
1. How do I help him see that he needs to fight for this (aside from long tirades on Facebook).
2. How can I help from from my disadvantage point of being in Florida (he's in North Carolina, stationed at Bragg).
3. Are there Army programs that can help him with this, especially financially, since she's raking him over the coals?
4. Am I giving him sound advice?
5. Can I go to NC myself and murder the bitch because she's the type of woman I hate with all my being, keeping a willing father from their child?
6. Anyone know any good family lawyers in Ft. Bragg area that would be willing to give my brother some advice?
Also, I too am concerned for her development, is there anything I can do besides sit here and hope/pray it works out?
There are many programs for veterans, in which he could get a lawyer for free to help people out in situations like this.
I dont know if the programs are any good, but I would look into them.
How old is his daughter? That will greatly influence my comment.
Two and a half.
I am much less alarmed by the described behavior than he seems to be.
