I heard they're an absolute pain in the ass to care for. any truth in that?

ertyu: I'll add Asuka to the list of future names. ^.~
Caiyuo: Thanks. Niddy is pretty awesome. *^^* Such a sweet boy~
alt: Niddy has the biggest head but Nobunaga is the heaviest. They all range from 7-9 inches long and anywhere from 25 grams to 75 grams. The babies are usually about 4 grams at hatching. =)
Haelian: lol. Thanks. Yeah. We have a lot. -.-;
Here's our setup (I just took these pictures for an LS member who was curious. lol.)

Superworms!:

Amigad those are big worms. I wanna play with it.
Spoiler: show
lol. They're creepy. D= I have to use giant tweezers to pick them up.
Pff, just pick 'em up in your hands and watch 'em squirm around & shit. IT'S FUN~
Oh my sweet jesus, keep those giant worms away from me.
Well, they're not friendly. Period. But there isn't really any more maintenance involved with them than any other animal like it, such as guinea pigs or ferrets. If you get one, don't plan on being best buds with it I'd say. I'm sure there's a point where if you give it enough attention etc, it will warm up to you but I haven't gotten to that point and IMO most people won't before they give up.
Basically I clean his cage and give him a bath every other week, maybe less if I'm lazy. You also gotta keep their nails trimmed, which is the worst pain about having one for me. I end up spending at least 30 minutes trying to clip them every time I give him a bath.
Lastly, they're not very cheap (I spent $200 on Cheddar alone, I also had to buy the cage and accessories) and they don't have much of a lifespan (I was told 4-9 years). Overall, not the smartest purchase I've made but I wuv him and he's fun to show off to other people.
Like the Marlins much? lol I used to think Griffey Jr. was the cooooooolest. Those superworms are crazy, I'd totally be drawn to picking one up. lol Is this a business for you or just a huge hobby?
@Hael: I had 2 hedgehogs and I've had a pretty similar experience. Tried to take it really slow and let them do their own thing and even went as far as leaving articles of my clothing in their cage to familiarize them, but I always got the hiss and curl treatment. lol Clipping the nails and baths were kind of hectic but they can be really cute swimming around, assuming they aren't constantly pooping. lol
Neither of mine lived for very long, about 2 years. :/
woah @ the superworms..
This is my SHCTB Leopard Gecko, named Gil

Nice gecko set up.
I feed mine meal worms occasionally, but mostly use dubia roaches now. They are so easy to keep, and I have a bearded dragon as well that tears them to shreds.
I have a picture of when I unpacked them all for the first time lol:

My boyfriend is the one who is a huge Marlin's fan. XD lol.
As of right now, we're breeding as a hobby.. Hopefully down the line it'll turn more into a business.. Once we get the hang of it. ^.~ This is only our first breeding season. ^^
I can't do roaches.. I have a HUGE roach phobia. D= They're AMAZING feeders and I really wish I could deal with them.. But.. Ughhh~ I can't do it. lol. Looking at that picture grosses me out. lol.

Cute dogs!
@Kitsuu: looks like you guys have a handle on all that. lol Hope it works out! ..and fuck roaches. D: Between roaches and spiders I'm paralyzed. haha
@Sonomaa: Louie looks awesome. lol Shockingly similar considering mine's a mix, but he's also a little fatter. :E Definitely doesn't look like Louie looking out the window that way.
I'm mostly a dog person, but like all animals in general. Had never really gotten to play with a Lab before and he's definitely one of the most charismatic dogs I've met. Crazy smart and very kind, even plays with children pretty well. lol Had a really weird instance of separation anxiety when we got him, and it's still somewhat present, but much more toned down now. Never really saw that in a dog before, but it was very sad. Gets so excited when people come home or new people come in that he'd pee himself if no one's there to control the excitement. D: Still does it from time to time with girls ..lol
I present to you.... the $2,000 Fish.
My friend just got one after being on a 2 year waiting list. I hope to have one myself when I set up a separate tank for Marine Angel Fish in a year or so:

He spent 5 Grand total, for a total of 2 fish lol. The other one was another angel fish, a Clarion Angel, that was just under $3,000. I didn't get a chance to take a picture of that one, but here's a picture of what it looks like:

My puggle Harvey. He's got alittle more beagle in him than pug, and one of his eyes is kind of retarded. But needless to say he's awesome.
