This reminds me of when I was a kid and had gerbils.

When we'd put the cage (glass tank) on the floor to clean it our dog would literally bite and gnaw on the flat glass walls of the tank trying to get at them like a complete retard. One of the funniest things I've ever seen. Inevitably we'd have to clean the outside of the tank afterwards because of all the slobber she left behind.

Despite this dog ravenously, relentlessly mashing it's face into the tank, teeth bared, snarling, etc; as far as the gerbils were concerned not a single fuck was given.

Cool on the above 2x posters. As for me I used ghetto pools for my dog or beach.

I really like your snakes, mallister. I used to care for a Boa Constrictor and a Blood Python. Yours are so cute. :D

thanks guys ~ i am getting a pair of redfooted tortoises this weekend. going to long-term foster them for a coworker that landed a position in the bay area and can't take them with him. they're about 8" shell length, so pretty well started. will post pics after i get them established.

so, tortoises are in and ZMFG they are so cute. yes, i'm a big fat hairy redneck and i squealed like a girl when i saw them for the first time.

pics are huge, so i did thumbnails. my friend wasn't sure of the sex of either tortoise, he said there was some shell difference but it was hard to judge. i wasn't worried because i thought they weren't quite mature yet, figured i would have time to get them sexed by a vet. while i'm uploading the pics, i hear this barking noise. yeah. check the last pic. looks like i may be incubating some eggs...

I'm fostering a pair of kittens until October, my 3 cats seem to get along with them well and the kids like having kittens to play with again. The orange & white kitten is a male named Solar, the black & white is a female named Sunny. Sunny doesn't like people very much, but Solar is constantly begging for attention from humans and the other cats
    Spoiler: show

It's pretty easy to sex turtles and tortoises. Males have longer tails in almost all of the species. That's where their MANPARTS are. The other thing you can look at for your tortoises is their tummies. It's hard to tell from your pics, but the one you're holding up in the fourth pic looks like a boy.

yeah man i just hadn't had time to examine them properly. the male is OBVIOUSLY a male, i dunno how randall missed it. in his defense these were his first tortoises, he was a long-time snake guy. they have some slight pyramidding from overfeeding (good bone density though) so i'm cutting back the chow while i excavate the tortoise pit in the front yard. gonna take me a couple of days to dig it out but we should be good to hook. going to order an incubator next pay check.

When I had turtles, my girl held her eggs for like a year and would never lay them no matter how nice of an egg laying area I made for her. She finally laid them in the water and ate them.

this is her about a year back with my dads emmy
shes not doing so hot ; ; poor girl has a tumor we cant do anything about. but its been 2 years and shes hanging in there so far.

SHE'S SO BIG NOW. She doesn't have the baby face any more. Arya's evolution:

It's pretty hard to keep her off of me if I'm on the laptop.

How do I make her stop biting my nose and ear? I threw water bottles at her but she's immune to water now cuz I did it so much.

It's not scratched. It's in pristine condition b/c it's in a case at all times. That's a reflection of the power cord b/c it's so shiny. I keep a cloth between the screens so that that part doesn't get scratched either and I constantly rub off fingerprints.

So my wife accidentally left out some chocolate chip cookies. Like 8-9 of them. Are they in any immediate danger? Two dogs and I rather not take two dogs to the ER if I don't have to. I'm at work but she swears they're fine and I'm a basket case over here

I think without eating pure chocolate it'd take quite a bit to do serious harm depending on the size of the dog. I think I remember you having an australian shepherd so I imagine between two dogs of around that size they'll be okay. To be safe, though, she can look for symptoms:

Symptoms of Chocolate Dog Ingestion and Poisoning

You can recognize that your dog has eaten a toxic dose of chocolate from the symptoms. Within the first few hours, the evidence includes vomiting, diarrhea or hyperactivity. As time passes and there's increased absorption of the toxic substance, you'll see an increase in the dog's heart rate, which can cause arrhythmia, restlessness, hyperactivity, muscle twitching, increased urination or excessive panting.

This can lead to hyperthermia, muscle tremors, seizures, coma and even death.
