When dealing with most types of chocolate a dog will actually need to eat quite a lot to get seriously ill, most chocolate we eat is milk chocolate which is only ~10% actual cocoa. My mother told me one Easter their dog (standard poodle) knocked over a bunch of the baskets in the night and ate something like 4 chocolate bunnies (big family, there were still more on the floor but she apparently got full) and was completely fine the next day.

You really only need to be concerned when it comes to stuff baked with chocolate (brownies are probably the best example) since baker's chocolate is dark/semi-sweet which has much more cocoa in it.

Yeah we had a shih tzu that on one occasion ate an entire 1lb bag of m&ms, and on another tore open a christmas gift and ate an entire 2lb box of chocolates. Don't get me wrong she had the hershey squirts afterward, but she was fine.

It mostly depends if it's actual cacao... and mainstream shit like M&Ms have very little real chocolate in them.

My mom is a vet tech in an animal hospital, she tells me every Valentines Day there's a run on poisoned dogs that got into the fancy dark chocolate. That stuff is super dangerous for them, the sugary junk that contains hardly any actual cocoa is no huge deal.

Don't remember if I posted my boy here before. His name is Mercury, he's 8 years old, I just snapped this right now to show Facebook that he's settled into the new house nicely.

I have to be insane... We have 5 cats in the apartment right now, and I had this unstoppable urge to get a dog, so today we visited a local shelter and picked up this little guy. He's some kind of terrier mix, about 4 months old according to the vet we took him to before taking him home and giving him a thorough bath. Haven't decided on a name yet...
