Matt Smith

Matt Smith has been named as the actor who will take over from David Tennant in Doctor Who - making him the youngest actor to take on the role.

At 26, Smith is three years younger than Peter Davison when he signed up to play the fifth Doctor in 1981.

Smith will first appear on TV screens as the 11th Doctor in 2010.

He was cast over Christmas and will begin filming for the fifth series of Doctor Who in the summer. Tennant is filming four specials in 2009.

on a serious note, I don't really like the way he looks, but I also didn't really like the previous two too much, and then they grew on me, so I'm hoping that happens again.

Hell, how hot the main character is shouldn't even matter that much, (I'm currently watching the old old old episodes, lol@super old guy doctor <_<) I just hope he's cool and awesome.

I'm a little miffed that there wasn't a regular season of Dr. Who this year but atleast we have the specials(that weren't that great...). When the new Doctor was announced at first I thought it would be awful but now I'm excited to see what direction it will go with a much younger Doctor. And have you seen the new assistant? Holy guacamole she's fine, hottest assistant yet!

I'm going to at least give Matt Smith a chance.

I never had any reservations about David Tennant, and he is my favorite Doctor by far. He was so charismatic, he just made it so much fun to watch, regardless of the scenario. I'll miss him, and I'm not sure if I like the look of Matt Smith. Not saying his look is what will define him as a character, but that's really all we have.

He just, doesn't look right.

My favorite episodes were when things got really dark and apocolyptic. I felt that's when the character of the Doctor truly shined. I would like to see the new season go this direction. I loved the two part season finale with the Master, such an awesome character.
