Red-eye storyline would probably just follow the story of crack, Freeway Rick Ross (not the fake faggot ass rapper, the actual dealer who'd make 3M on a BAD day selling), toss in some Mafia/Yakuza/Triad hybrid gang and a weird western theme and you've got the story. BLAMMO.
Man I suck at this.
This really doesn't look good already...
CB is very western in it's style and presentation compared to most anime and the fact that they did a good voice acting on the English localization of the original series means it has mass western appeal. Shit I've even had my father watch and enjoy the English dub version.
Not say it will be good, but they got a much better chance at being good then many other options they could do.
As long as they stay true to the source material it will probably be successful in at least a cult classic way.
Sounds like it could be pretty good, and reeves is probably the most accurate actor we'll get since he'll actually try to do the roll and would fit it better than anyone but a nobody.
But my problem is the Reeves we've had for the past... 10 years? Too stern and smug and shit. Acts forceful (think matrix/day the earth stood still). Spike, is best described, as liquid. His movements and like a fluid, I highly highly doubt Reeves will be remotely close too that, he'd have to go back to the bill and teds days. Spike is going to be this unfunny, caring, badass awesome action star blahblah that we do not fucking want.
This is what we need, but wont get... oh the memories.
Spoiler: show
To be fair Reeves was porbably type casted after the matrix, and the directors probably didn't want to let him act any differently then that.
Would be cool if they went more into that fight with that french assassin that repeatedly fucked Spike up. The one that was afraid of cats. I could totally watch a full length movie of Spike basically being hunted by that guy and eventually having no choice but to face him.
But that's not very Spike-like, obviously.
I think Reeves will do fine. THE HAIR THOUGH, THE HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAIR. e_e
All I know of Point Break is the reference it got in Hot Fuzz. Was it bad? >_>
I would think w/ Reaves affinity for the material + his relationship with watanabe, his experience w/ martial arts he would be able to convey the manner of spike decently
No it was great.
But it goes to show you that keanu has been playing the same person since 1991.
Edit: zaraki his martial arts would work well since its all cqc based and not too many guns, shit there is a sword involved, but his styles are too rigid and not like spike.
Doesn't mean he can't change it for this movie. Shit, a little Tai Chi along with what he already knows (I'm sure he knows some Jujitsu), he'll be like water. :3

She's going to be in this right? Whoever the fuck plays her better know how to act.
Angelina Jolie LOL.
too old lol
Oh come on, they could fix her up I bet. She's got the tits / eyes for the role, that's for sure.
@.@ Oh God...If this keeps up, there'll be movies of every series now...
