OK sean, you're cool with me
OK sean, you're cool with me
OK, that was a fantastic speech, I'm glad he got the chance to say it. He starts off by acknowledging that he's an asshole and ends by congratulating Mickey. Perfect! lol
Best Picture ahooooooyyyy
Slumdog
JAAAIII HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Slumdog went 9/10 right? The only one they didn't win was for sound I think? If that's correct, then wow...
Fuck Mickey Rourke not winning. RAAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGGGGGGGEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
Ok, congrats Danny Boyle, now give us another zombie movie!
Would have been a cool moment to see Mickey win but Sean Penn was great too and acknowledged him so at least there's that.
I made a joke to my roommate that Mickey would want to win next year so he does The Wrestler 2 but then Penn sees that and acts as a blind man with aids in a wheelchair and wins again.
There is no way a movie about a blind guy in a wheelchair with aids doesn't win.
At the end of the show they were showing the upcoming movies and the one where christian bale and johnny depp play gangsters with tommy guns looks sweet.
Gay characters are so last hour.
Awwwwwwwwww. He's blind, in a wheelchair, and has AIDS, and to make matters worse than they already are you do something terrible to the poor guy and make him gay? Now that is just depressing, and award worthy.
Gotta say that Hugh Jackman rocked as the host.
Meh...Heath had the Oscar won the second he died, no surprise there. Wall-E got boned on a lot of awards. Benjamin Button beating out not only Dark Knight and Hellboy on make-up but beating Dark Knight and Iron Man on visual effects is pretty questionable. Finally, Mickey should have won that shit.
EDIT: And yeah, Hugh Jackman was awesome.
No.
For fuck's sake, he won it the second the film was released, his death has nothing to do with it. Did you really think Hoffman or RDJ or Brolin or Shannon's performances were better than Heath's? He fucking DIVED into that role and dominated the fuck out of that movie, it's a performance that the world will remember for decades to come.
Yeah, pretty much.
Sound was definitely the biggest upset, but I'm just happy it won Best Animated Feature (I was actually worried it wouldn't for a minute, after I found at that Kung-Fu Panda swept the Annie Awards for some reason >_>).
I don't think so.
Have you seen Benjamin Button? If I didn't know who Brad Pitt was, you could seriously fool me ten times over; I would think he was genuinely a 60-year old man, the makeup award was spot on. As far as visual effects, it was a tough competition, but ultimately I think BB won because it was a kind of special effects we aren't really used to seeing. We see comic book movies every year, we never see the kind of old-midget-man shit they did to make Brad Pitt an 85-year old baby. And never once did I ever think "oh well that's obviously CGI"; it was all amazingly fluid.
AGREED.
But like I said, Sean's speech kind of (key words) made up for Mickey's loss, and fuck knows Mickey's popularity is going to skyrocket now. Who knows, another Oscar nom for him could come sooner than you think!
anyone has a link to that mix of new movie trailers at the ending credits?
