PETA's Veggie Sex Super Bowl Ad Rejected By NBC (VIDEO)
link has the video of the ad, good shit, and probably the least retarded PETA campaign I've seen recently.

NBC pulled the plug on a PETA pro-veggie commercial planned for the Super Bowl because it "depicts a level of sexuality exceeding our standards," according to NBC Universal's advertising standards executive, Victoria Morgan. The ad, which carries the tagline, "Studies Show Vegetarians Have Bet ter Sex," shows lingerie-clad stunners getting "intimate" with vegetables. One shot depicts an actress "rubbing [her] pelvic region with pumpkin." Says a PETA rep: "PETA's veggie ads are locked out, while ads for fried chicken and burgers are allowed, even though these foods make Americans fat, sick and boring in bed."

Not to state the obvious, but I'm pretty sure PETA intentionally made it "too sexy" so that they'd get all kinds of news stories and viewers on the video to get their method across without having to drop a mil on a Super Bowl ad.

It's like when a political campaign would make an ad, i.e. "Obama is a terrorist", but then say "we decided not to air it" so all the news outlets would pick it up and show it - getting their message across while still being able to say "see? we didn't air it, we're classy!"

I generally hate PETA but honestly, I'm happy to give them headlines/attention over this, its a clever ad based on a certain degree of truth and I'd laugh if it had come up during the Super Bowl.

Vegetarians tend to be more liberal leaning (fact) and people like that tend to have more sex, and tend to experiment more (fact).

Being a vegetarian has nothing to do with it, it's just causality being bent to serve the interests of a third party as usual.
