    AV working theory

because i cant post in the adv forum <_< and i felt this deserved a new thread anyway!

So going off of SOME speculation adn SOME fact, we are going to state:

AV two-hours can not be locked

Against AV, DoT will be better then spike damage (DoT spells, low nukes, and melee hits vs AM2 and SATAgekkos)

SE has stated (or sage sundi did, who needs to die in a fire btw)

You are fighting at the wrong speed (hinting towards damage speed/kill speed)

Location is important (avoid aggro? room to kite? perhaps location of where we are standing compaired to meteor? who knows)

Dealing with auto regen is key (DUH)

Fight can take long unless your lucky (pre 2h patch, hinting AV 2h can not be controlled)

    SE has patched:

    NPC/Wall trick (cheating)
18 hour fight to 2 hour fight (well...yeah)
Drk zerg (killing too fast, again)

Documented fights from everyone (SE too)

No atempts to lock AV 2h have been successful as of yet

meteor sucks, but range is only 25' so thats yay?

    comet no big deal

aeroga4 = bad news... perhaps more MDT- and a second bard for wind carol in tank party?

so anyway... to the actual Theory Crafting!

Perhaps the best way to deal with AV is to not speed kill him?
i believe AV was stated to have 70k hp

most LS that i have heard of going at AV now can remove auto regen in about 1 hour, giving you about 1 hour to kill (from JoL start to AV no regen 1 hour that is)

seeing as killing in 1 hour exactly would be stupid as you are greatly pushing the time limit, and random things do happen (d/c, wipes, etc) i decided to make a goal of killing AV in 30 minutes

    70k hp over 30 min = 2340 damage a minute
saying half the alliance is support/tank and half is DD means each DD must do 260 damage a minute (not including DoTs)

i think honestly, 260 damage a min from a sam or a blm or such is reasonable

the only random factor now, is 2hs

i can not be 100% sure they are from TP moves

but i do know a miss ele nuke or a spike damage (WS included) will trigger a 2h almost 80% of the time

so to sum up the test!

    no WS
    no Spike damage/high nukes
only melee attacks/DoT spells (of the right element)/ low tier nukes
Bene is the only set back, as everything else can be dealt with!

    response/feedback/flames?

also inb4, "oh noes, another AV thread with loltheories"

Isn't really a theory its more like common sense. He'll use 2hrs regardless of if you spike damage or not.

From my time with him, and all Aerns for that matter

they tend to get angry when you WS, Critical Hit, Spike Damage nuke

Crit hits might trigger them but that may be stupid to try and "control"

WS/Spike damage i have pretty much confirmed

i still am not sure if he can use it as a TP move though

perhaps melee him with thf/mnk only? and have them chi-blast o.O if that doesnt cause a 2h/reset regen

Killing him in exactly 2h5m is the key to victory

(It's a theory that's been tried before and AV is advanced discussion)
