Question About Evasion Skill

I've always wondered this and haven't had any luck finding anything. Has there been any testing on evasion skill and evasion. What I'm curious is much much evasion 1 skill is, and if there is some sort of cap on evasion until you raise your skill or agi higher. It's weird that they did evasion and evasion skill, but didn't do the same with parry. Thanks~

I really hate the hypothesis put forth though, if evasion > evasion skill EVER, in any circumstance whatsoever, i am just pissed

I'm going to stick with Evasion Skill > Evasion+ in any given situation. I have a THF cousin that is forever testing the benefits of both and by sheer eyeballing it, it seems like skill does way more for him than regular evasion+ ever does.

Sometimes, I'll lend him my Melody Earrings +1 when I'm on BRD and that makes a very noticeable difference in his evasion with any songs up. With double Mambo up, most mobs are hard pressed to land hits on him.

I remember hearing/reading ages ago that it was a 3 to 1 ratio. 3 evasion = 1 evasion skill. No idea where it was though.

Can you get high evasion/low evasion checks in ballista?

I would seriously not make any decisions based upon stuff like this without a valid test.

Recall millionaires desk and trump crown (iirc) for increased drop rates, +charisma for provoke, counterstance testing, theory of when th affects drops (last hit, must be in party, weapon skill, etc.) +/- enmity theories, all the crafting and gardening theories, etc? Most if not all of this turned out to be plain wrong after someone took the long hard road to testing.

I just don't find it credible that SE would make +evasion skill not act the same as +evasion because the coding for this seems mind boggling on the one hand and unique on the other hand. I don't think there is any other place in the game where this is an issue and I think that is just stems from some things being written as +evasion when they should have said +evasion skill.

Normally the given rule is Eva Skill > Eva
If you can't get Skill then just go with Eva, this is what I've heard all career long and it makes sense

Except that evasion skill gear adds to your evasion skill when you check your combat stats; evasion gear does not. Seems like there must be some difference between them apart from translation issues.
