Is there a subbed version of episode 1 out yet? Probably not, but if there is I couldn't find it lol
No subs yet, but RAWs everywhere. Watching now.
Lol, some good memories, sadly no animation updat, but still nice to see again. They use pretty basic Japanese, so not too hard to understand.
Do you really need sub to watch DBZ, it's not like you don't already have the dialogue memorized anyway.
I cant say if it's the original footage or not, havent seen it in ages.
Outside of the opening/ending, it looks the same to me.
I don't -need- the subs but I prefer them. Hearing moonspeak isn't that pleasant to me unless I know what said moonspeak is saying! And I don't have them memorized since I haven't seen the show since 4th grade when I sprinted home to catch it in time.
I thought all they did was reanimate new openings and just remaster it to be in HD? The same animation cells would be there probably, they may have just touched it up. If it looks the same as the old dragonball and not like dragonball GT you know it means they re-did it.
edit: just watched some of it - it's just remastered and fitted for HDTV, they didn't reanimate anything.
Can only agree with what's been said...since I rewatched the 291 episodes like a month ago. They left quite a few filler parts away, which is good and they also recolored some of the frames, or at least I get that impression. It's noticeable on stuff like Radditz's armor and his scouter...other than that, you definetely notice the redubbing, especially Bulma's voice seems a lot more "tame".
One thing I'm really happy about is that they didn't make the ki blasts in CGI or something weird...
Edit: One thing that I don't like is that they changed the music in the episodes...
well the new episode looked exactly the same graphics wise. i mean when they had those little commercial things the graphics looked w00t but the actual show was the same in my opinion. hope it gets cooler when they actually start fighting.
Well they said they would touch it up at least so it doesn't look so fuzzy sometimes., and re-fit it to 16:9. The intro has many of the fights from DBZ reanimated in DBGT graphics, so it's possible that the major fights might have been redrawn. Time will tell.
Krillin: ... GOMU GOMU!
On a more serious note - a thing they should've changed was Goku's ridiculous voice. They still hired a weird sounding high pitched one.
Possible whoosh, but they hired the exact same voice actors as back then, with the exception of the ones that are dead, obviously. I think Tenshinhan's voice actor died...don't quote me on that though.
