'Governator' heads back to big screen

SACRAMENTO, Calif. - Art will imitate life when Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger spends a few hours playing himself later this year in a movie by Sylvester Stallone.

Stallone's publicist, Sheryl Main, revealed more details Tuesday of Schwarzenegger's rare big-screen appearance.

The governor said he has done just three cameos for friends since becoming governor in 2003. Shooting on the film, "The Expendables," will begin March 28 in Brazil and move to New Orleans for two months.

Main says the governor will shoot his scene in Los Angeles.

His role will be a familiar one: California governor. Stallone writes, directs and stars in the movie, a film about a group of mercenaries trying to overthrow a South American dictator.

I thought I read somewhere that Danny Trejo was gonna be in this movie also. He's the guy in the fake trailer for Machete in the Grindhouse movie, usually plays a mexican badass in all movies he's in.

Personally don't care to much for mindless action flicks but my dad absolutely loves them. He recently was diagnosed with dementia and likes to sit around and watch em recently. Showed him the trailer and he flipped the shit. Kinda makes me tear up, so I can't wait to take him to this.

There was an interview with Stone Cold Steve Austin on my local radio station last week, he said he had a role in this movie too.

Holy shit this looks awesome! I saw the first trailer months ago and was let down because it looked like strait to dvd quality. But looks much better HD, Can't wait.

    Oh and wtf @..
    Spoiler: show
ARNOLD! Damn I know this is wishful thinking but what if Stallone and Arnie had a one on one fist fight in the jungle ala Snake vs Ocelot, I'm still pissed they never did a movie together

This wouldn't be the first attempt to cram as many stars in one movie to compensate for the w/e it is lacking, but nonetheless... I'll watch it!

    Reminds me of this...

Jean Claude Van Damme was actually given a call by Stallone himself offering a role and turned it down. Wonder what the hell was his logic behind this decision.

That may explain why he was in the trailer.

Doh. Yeah, he and Couture are in there.

I think Trejo ended up dropping out.

Van Damme turned the role down because Sly wouldn't tell him what the movie was about or who his character was. lol
“Stallone gave me a part in his next movie. But I ask him about the subject, about the story.” Van Damme tells the magazine. “He said, ‘You’re gonna make lots of money.’ I don’t want to hear that, I want to hear what was my character. He was unable to tell what it’s going to be.” [Stallone said:] ‘You know, uh, well, the fighting will be good.’ [So I said:] ‘Sly, what is my character?’ So I didn’t do the movie.” the actor further points out.
So instead, he's shopping Bloodsport 2. Good call.

Yeah cause Van Damme/Stallone etc have made good career decisions up to this point.

Stallone was great in his recent rambo/rocky movies. I had high expectations for him but this trailer just looks like a cheesy run of the mill action movie

    That's what we're hoping!

...and Van Damme is picky why? Because Van Damme - In Hell was a blockbuster!...

Yeah, JCVD turned down Predator as well. Dude makes bad choices. Apparently Stalone turned it down due to issues with a producer. I say thank god. Now just needs a Chuck Norris cameo...and shit will be great. Will always be a bit disappointed that JCVD turned it down though.

First thing I said when my friend told me about this movie was lament the lack of Van Damme. Glad there was a little more to it than "I don't wanna" or some dumb shit about pay. Then again, wouldn't be hard to imagine what his role would be: badass ex-legionnaire.

Must be Mercenary Movie Year... This movie, Losers and the A-Team. Feels like Dante's Peak/Volcano all over again. I must say this one looks like it will easily be the best out of the three.
