Best video capture software for a console to PC application.

Hi, my fiancee recently just got a HP Pavilion Elite/Media Center edition PC and it we noticed it has S-video, audio, etc. the works on inputs.

Anyways what we are wanting to do is hook the PS2 into her inputs so we can leave the PS2 on all day bazaaring, and then when she needs to look and see whats going on in the game with the ps2. To just use the capture software for it.

Anyways, any suggestions on software for this? I tried download.com and google but didn't find anything appealing for this type of application.

After a ton of testing with many programs. It seems Virtualdub is the winner.

Programs like Windows Movie Maker or Sony Vegas can capture for recording uses. But they aren't convenient for applications where you just want to view the source.

Quality is really nice, even though its only 720x480 resolution. Its awesome for our bazaar account to run/afk all day.

If you ever decide to capture, you should also use VirtualDub for that. I specifically recommend using HuffYUV for capturing, though it's a lossless format and will take up a significant amount of space.

Though I did write up a rather lengthy and detailed set of instructions on exactly what to do and how to do it, it was eaten by The Great Spam Meltdown. Such sadness I feel.
