Picked it up during the $5 sale a week or so ago, and I felt bad for getting it so cheaply.

At any rate, there's not been much in the way of the Ubisoft titles that have interested me so far this week (or that I'd have much preferred getting the console rendition of instead), but I'm completely set on getting Braid the day it launches on Steam. Fuck yeah. Also picking up Audiosurf soon after a friend bugged me about it to the point where I tried the demo to shut him up.

Got World of Goo for free a few months ago, just kind of assumed it was a free game when my brother sent it to me. Amazing game though.

Makes me wonder why we don't have a general Indie-Game appreciation thread to be honest. Quite a few gems out there that some people don't really bat an eye at because it's not out in retail stores. Steam is awesome for this since everyone uses it already.

Any idea if the Steam version has been patched since the retail release?

Retail one (which I scored for $5 a couple years ago) is unplayable on high settings with modern nVidia cards due to the shader effect used for the water crippling the frame-rate.

I bought BG&E on Steam a while ago, and it's completely unplayable on any settings. The audio is a good few minutes desync'd from the video, some kind of frame rate limiting issue, I think. I don't have a modern Nvidia card, I have a Radeon HD3870.

After reading this I went and dl'ed the Steam version and yep, there's a lot of graphical glitching with textures. Didn't notice an extreme amount of sound desync though.

About BG&E: It's on GOG.com (Good Old Games). Unlike Steam, which leaves it in the hands of the devs to fix problems, GOG.com tends to fix things and make them more compatible with today's computers. Now, generally they do that with older games like Fallout, but I'm hoping they did it with BG&E as well. GOG is also 100% DRM free and can still be downloaded unlimitedly.
EDIT: Apparently they fixed most problems and disabling HW vertex processing fixes the rest.

It, Prince of Persia: Sands of Time (another brilliant game), and IL-2 Sturmovik: 1946 are on GOG.com now.
