Ranged Attack Bug or Suzaku Bug?

OK, backstory:

Just got back into endgame after a long break. I used to be a tank only and came NIN to everything. Now, I am being asked to come RNG for events. So, I have 8 archery merits (292 skill), and pretty good gear:

Krieg/Fran/Selene's/Demon/OHat/Hope Torque/Suppa/Drone/Kirins/Seiryus (and Crimson)/Behe/Rajas/Amemet+1/RK+2/Pahluwan/Marine M Feet.


My first event ever as a DD was Suzaku. I ate a Marinara pizza, subbed NIN (mainly for sneak) and they popped him. I literally landed no more than 7 shots the ENTIRE fight and missed both Sidewinder's I built TP up for (one before the pop) at about 150% TP. I was VERY discouraged. I tried different ranges during the fight. I landed 2-3 axe hits with 225 skill though which confused me... Something seemed fishy to me. SAMs wearing no more than +20-30 acc gear were telling me to "get more ACC gear" even though I had a TON more than they had.


We had another pop set. We built TP again on pots, and popped again. This time, I missed 5 shots total the entire fight, and absolutely NOTHING changed. Can anyone explain this? Was the first pop a higher level than the second and it made that huge of a difference?


To further confuse me, we did a Seiryu the next fight and I had no acc issues at all on it either with the exact same setup... Thoughts? Explanations? Bug? Fluke? Bad luck?

Does anyone have that screenshot where a too-weak bee misses a guy 50 times in a row and then hits him 3 times in a row, and then misses him another 10 times in a row? Seems applicable for a lot of "is this a glitch?" posts, including this one.

maybe nobody dispelled feather barrier, also i think all NMs can pop in a range of 2-3 levels within eachother.

In my experience on RNG vs. Sky Gods, they always have silly evasion. Either get a COR in pty, eat sum sushis, or get a THF to Feint that bad boy.

Same thing happened to me while I was on rng. We fought 2 Suzaku back to back, so I even switched from meat to sushi. Still missed like crazy =/

Yes why pizza? Go for sushi, squid or sole depending what you want stat wise, it increases ranged acc.

NQ Squid:
* HP +30
* Dexterity +6
* Agility +5
* Mind -1
* Resist Sleep
* Ranged Accuracy +15%
* Accuracy +15%
* 30 minutes

NQ Sole:
* Strength +5
* Dexterity +6
* Accuracy +15%
* Ranged Accuracy +15%
* Resist Sleep
* HP +20
* 30 minutes

With those merits and your Archery skill that high I'm guessing either no one dispelled it, or the first one popped at a high lvl (I think it ranges anywhere from 88-90) and the second one prob popped at a low level.

This happens to me all the time on DI, sometimes I go there and I don't have to pop food and I hit it, thats when it's time to eat ranged attack food, then there are the times with no bard or cor and I miss with sushi on... Pretty frustrating lol.


Oh, and spend the gil to get an ebow, you'll love it.

Yeah, it reminds me of RDM's getting frustrated over not being able to land enfeebs on gods even with the best gear, and it makes me think of getting like 100 r.acc in gear plus food and whiffing on byakko a ridiculous amount. I remember landing like 6 shots on Byakko at the same time a WAR in my shell did SC for like 2200, and I was like, fuck this shit, I'm leveling a 2h.

I got 75% hit rate one time and on the other fight, it went down again. That's with a total 460 racc... more than any relic 2h can obtain

Like people said, should have used sushi. Ranged acc has been fucked since the RNG nerf. 2H naked in thongs have better acc than a RNG whoring all the acc in the world.

So Marinara Pizza gives 10% acc and an attack buff for melee only? Why isn't it like every other food I have ever used where it gives both? I used it because I thought it was 10% racc and ratt just like the melee stats...
