Fullmetal Alchemist 2: Brotherhood

Just as heart breaking the 2nd time around as it was the first. There's still the whole Hughes thing as well, which will be sad as well :'(

Also, I kinda thought they introduced the french guy as someone on the run after Ed and Al got to him in the mining town. That wasn't really a needed episode, so it looks like he's gonna be in it after all.

It's following the manga pretty closely. Everything that we saw in this latest episode was in Chapter 5 of the manga of course with minor differences (Nina actually called Ed "Mis-ter" in the manga when she was changed into a Chimera and it was what triggered Ed to realize it was her) Things are going to start moving pretty quickly here with the Ed vs Scar, Dr. Marcoh, lab 5, and Hueghs.

Also that french guy (Yoki) shows up a lot more later on in the series

If this amazing pacing is consistent then I think FMA will be bumped as my all time favorite series #2 right below Evangelion.

As for the episode itself, I am really glad they didn't show Ed and Al discover their corpses like in the series, that probably would have just broke the rest of me lol.

Ed inquires about what will happen to Tucker and Nina, Hawkeye tells them that they are dead
Ed wants to see the bodies, but he is not allowed to. The fact that they were killed by scar is kept a secret from both him and Al.

v1 != v2, which seems to strictly follow the manga instead of incorporating side material. So far, the only points that have been skipped is Youswell and Battle on the Train, but they have accounted for Youswell.

Was a good episode, I preferred this one to the original, its better at following the manga and the pace is better, didnn't like that Bleach guy doing Mustang's voice at first, didn't bother me as much in this episode, guess just getting use to it. Looking forward to it following the later parts of the manga, should be good.

There really isn't any point in this version to show his first appearnce as a human as they did in V1 since this is following the manga. Much later on in the manga they go into Barry's past and he actually becomes a "good guy" working with Mustangs crew, however:

Even though he makes a promise not to hack up anyone else, he goes crazy because apparently the Soul has a connection to the body it was once attached to. The soul is drawn towards it's former body, and Barry ends up finding his own body. He goes insane and states how he hacked up other peoples body's but it would be 100x more fun to hack up his own body that was brought back to life

Armstrong's bit was pretty great, but it seemed like they wanted to just rush through the Ed/Al vs. Scar fight, so it wasn't as good as the first series.

Mustang was pretty hilarious, though.

There was many great line/scene in this episodes. I don't remember much about the old fight against Scar, but I loved this episode.

Ya, they did a really good job with this episode, especially the fight. I forgot how much I loved this series' ability to go back and forth between overly serious to laugh-out-loud humorous within moments.
