Yeah I myself almost repurchased a 360 after I sold it just to play ToV. I am really glad I bought a PS3 and decided to wait it out. I hope the same thing happen with Star Ocean IV. I really don't care about the extra content itself, I just want to play the damn game and now I finally can with some extra goodies.

People shouldn't be so angry though, third party exclusives are completely useless right now. This kind of thing is probably going to be normal from now on, except 360 owners are lucky to be able to play it a year in advance nearly lol.

This happens all the time. If the game you played was a good game worth the money you paid, then so what? The extra features are there to try to get people to buy two versions because they know that a modicum of new content is enough to get fans' 60 bucks.

That was not a re-release, it was a remake... and it was a piece of shit.

Before anyone thinks I'm ripping MGS, I LOVE <<<< !!!! MGS 1 (tons), 2 (kinda), 3 (somewhere between 1/4 and 2) and 4 (loads). Twin Snakes? Notsomuch.

Also, buy a PS3. We got quite a few updated 360 games, but I don't think 360 has any updated PS3 games. Not to mention the PS3 exclusives. L4D and Fable are a couple of the only games I'd want a 360 for, but I'd prefer a better PC for those anyways.

Bioshock is another one with updated content on PS3.

If you think about it, it's kinda like the game company saying "Fuck you" to Microsoft for paying the big money for a timed exclusive. I wonder if more people are going to start doing this as Microsoft continues to throw their money around for the timed exclusive titles. I, for one, this it's hilarious and maybe it will get rid of the whole "timed exclusive" idea that I so hate.

Haha, they won't get rid of it. Even though this pisses off fans, it did guarantee that the Xbox version will have way higher sales, and probably sold a lot of Xboxes as well.

I forgot about this thread for a bit, but it seems like no one else has addressed this. So, anyway. The reason I focused on Tales games is because that's this thread's primary subject -- or at least it was upon its creation, hence the name -- and this shit isn't new. At all.

It's going to happen. You should expect it by now. I stopped giving a shit about additional content a long time ago. I enjoy the initial experience and really don't give two shits if extra stuff comes out later. You may want to do the same.

Re-releases shouldn't tarnish your memories. If you had a good time, you had a good time.

All this just has me wishing the console companies would instead consolidate to one unit for the next generation and just focus on software development instead. It wouldn't be much unlike PC gaming at this point, but you'd have the perk of not worrying so much about system requirements since Sony, MS, and Nintendo would have a standard they could either put to the limits or lowball it with continued shovelware. An intelligent reevaluation of DLC couldn't hurt, either. People want "Expansion Packs" with this kind of stuff, not little unlocks or a couple costumes.

I'd like to get the extra content on 360, but I've already spent 140 hours on the game, and I doubt the new extras would warrant playing through it again (for me anyway).
