Yes, it sounds almost exactly like that. Slugs are not fought often so they are more of an unknown than most mobs, but it does seem like this is a pretty common behavior for them.
Alternatively, I believe that BST mobs are not effected (as much?) by the slugs. At least that is the second-hand info I have heard from a BST that fought the other slug NM.
BTW, if you move out of range of Dyinyinga the status effects end, so maybe some kind of shared hate/two tank system would be better.
Hope these suggestions help, I have not fought this mob yet.
All the fights outside the cities (Ronfaure, Gustaberg, Sarutabaruta) are definitely 60 cap. It looks like the Jeuno areas (Batallia, Rolanberry, Saroumugue) are all uncapped. Haven't heard of any fights from the intermediate areas.
Either they are on a 60/65/70/75 or 60/70/75/75 tier system.
Grauberg is 70 cap, Crawler's Nest is 75.
so have we only had the two actual successes?
Well SE did say the way you fight these will determine the rewards...so actually making up different strategies would be a wise way to fight even the 'easy ones' (if any).
Rewards are more determined based off of the number of adds you kill prior to knocking off the boss mob. As you kill them, you have a chance of getting messages that tell you what reward portion has increased (ie XP/Limit, augment, etc).
When we were working off the slug, we got an increase to Limit points and augmentations respectively for the two leeches we knocked off.
they said in teh update teasers, when they inroduced ANNM, that the reward will be better depending how youfight those NMs.
Kill more babies = good stuff happens
Did CN, after we killed the 2nd crawler the boss stopped moving temporarily. But it moved again then killed people, ended up wiping. Boss had flee + spamming triple attack.
Depop time appears to be 5min, raise works, tractor doesn't, and they have party hate.
I only have experience with one battle so far, but from the sound if it they seem similar. I think one basic idea would be to have; one person to kite or hold the main NM, one or two people that can sleep the helpers, and enough DD to plow down the helpers. Kill off the helpers one by one until all are dead then finish with main NM for max reward? Of course the strats otherwise depend on what enemies there are and what special abilities they have. If there's a shared hate system it might make that more difficult. That's the gist I'm getting so far though.
Uncapped Gnole NM healed for 3k HP at 93% when we decided to play around with it yesterday and definitely needed more than 6 people to beat from our quite short attempt.
NM used all the Alpha Gnole Anders techniques including Cacophony. Does anyone know for sure what Cacophony does? Ive heard a variety of things regarding it. The moon was around half and it still healed for shitload...
We killed 2 gnole adds and got the augmented item prompt and the spawner was at the La Thiene zoneline.
We attempted to low -man the tiger fight in batilla last night. Didn't go well. Initial pop was fine, PLD and WHM were able to handle the NM fine, but 2 people simply aren't enough to handle the add group. Atttempt was done by PLD / BLU / WHM / MNK. Sheep song stuck easily with blue magic skill of 305 and about 10-15 magic accuracy and stayed for what i assume to be full duration since they all awoke at same time. Tonight will probably add one more melee and one more crowd control (brd or rdm) and post results.
Who cares.. they won.
You're right, everyone, let's sell our good gear and toss it, be smurf PLDs and go with shitty gear and win crap, wooo
What relatively cheap or reasonably obtainable EX body armor is that much better than Adaman? Its not like he was wearing the feet. Or is the full Iron Ram also considered gimp and you just focused on the body?
