Anyone else unable to get on?

I'm just getting sent back to the main ffxi menu after I get past the "Word to Our Players" message, no error screen ever pops up

I saw on the advanced board that it may be because of antivirus, I tried blocking and even uninstalling Avast, but still nothing ;/

Took me a while for ffxi to load... give it some time maybe? It let me through eventually, but it wasn't some retardedly long wait.

I am also unable to log in, but for a different reason. After creating my Square-Enix account, linking it to my POL ID, and updating the POL viewer, there is no place to input the new SEA information in my member settings. I can log in to POL, but my Friend List doesn't display properly and it won't let me log on to FFXI saying that the SEA password/settings are incorrect. I have re-checked this so many times, but can't seem to find anything that I did wrong.

I tried talking with a representative on their help chat, but he didn't have any helpful suggestions that worked.

I took a closer look at my POL ID settings page and noticed something strange... Although it says "Enter your SE ID", there is no place for it... instead the POL ID is there. And above where it says "Enter your name *and* POL ID", there is only a name place...

Well, after 4 separate web chats with SE service people (all with varying degrees of usefullness), it turns out that un-installing and re-installing the POL Viewer fixed the problem. For some reason it messed itself up on the most recent update. I was told by a SE person to reinstall the entire game (dear God, no!!!), but luckily didn't have to. So if anyone else has this problem, there's the solution.
