Ode to Life bestowing. How to deal when you're not a ranged attacker

Hey all. I wanted to separate this from the main thread, so it didn't get lost. I wanted to explain some strats that i've come up with that may help those war, mnk, thf, drg, drk, pup, dnc, bst, blm who can't get a party for the mission.

War: You're on add duty. use voke and a cross bow. Sub sam or nin (I'd say sam for meditate and the thrulls hit like pansies) and kill them. You're not going to be a huge asset, but you can take them down.

Mnk: Same duty as war, but use pebbles to get their attention. At the last 15%, use Hundred fists.

Drk: Stun/Add duty. Can RA crystal as well. Sushi should let the bolts hit, as the crystal's agi is low.

Thf: You can sub rng and play a similar role to sam/rng. You also have the benefit of acid bolts and high eva, so you can lower the crystal's def and tank thrulls without a problem

drg: A few options. the easiest is sub mage and play add killer/ healer. Healing breath to help mages and other members who get injured.

Pup: Blm bot. Solo adds

Bst: Use your pet while you can, and kill adds.

Dnc: Use steps between TP moves, and once again: Adds. Use your AF chakram.

Blm: Stun and Tier III adds.


What's the main issue here? All these other jobs can be on Add duty. Can you do this with war war pld rdm whm bst? Probably not, but rng smn rdm sch pld war can do just fine.

I don't get it? You really didnt give much of a strategy other than "hey you can range attack too". There's groups who have beaten this without one range attacker. Friend beat this with MNK MNK SAM SAM WHM RDM. They had no issues. Shadows can absorb some of the attacks the crystal throws at you. If you're gonna go in with a group like this, 2 hour at the start since one of his TP moves will reset all job ability, including your 2 hour.

Also lol @ mnk using pebbles to claim adds. Why not i unno sub war and do some damage to it and use voke on the clones?

Here's another strat for you:
Stand in Stellar Fulcrum for 4 hours while the rng & smns train by.

It should be obvious by now SE has made missions far easier for some jobs than others to breeze through. Sure, you might squeeze through with a non optimal job, but you're setting yourself up for a lot more grief than if you just leveled a high demand job for this stuff.

Asking for it to be moved would defeat their purpose on the boards. Most people in advanced are in advanced because they can get away with being douches while adding nothing to the thread. It has nothing to do with the level of information being discussed. You should know this by now.

SE has to throw rng & smns a bone sometime. Mission BCNMs are are one of the few times they are apprciated.

I went bst/drk Stunned 100% success all Tier 3 until 33% on the final boss, then it was about 50% success rate.

And had *gasps* 2 blu in the party. Won with 10 mins to go.

No Charms, No deaths, Funny when it cloned me with a dark staff on

Charm claimed adds to bring them to the blus if they didn't RA them in time. Pulled a pet out to attack crystal when I could. May duty was Stunning.

I agree. The temptation for me to reply to patch notes, drama, and cries of "this is advanced?" can become severely burdensome sometimes.
