I was also a bit disappointed when he showed up in torchwood because I really didn't need to see him making out with John Barrowman. Not a homophobe or anything, it jsut wasn't remotely enjoyable, from my point of view. I'm sure some fangirls probably orgasmed on the spot though.

I'm sure you've heard this before, but you should really watch BSG first. Doubt you'll spoil anything by watching Caprica first, but you'll miss some things.

Echo this. I'll probably catch the first few episodes and see how I like em, may even go watch BSG if I like this enough. Never really been much into tv shows until I can watch all of the episodes at the same time, on my time, so I don't get left in suspense

do not gauge whether you will like BSG based on this, BSG is a completely different show that is much darker and while both shows are focusing on religion, politics, what it means to be human BSG touched on some pretty dark shit that I doubt Caprica's environment will allow. Likewise the show gets off to a much stronger start and has a number of mysteries built into the show from its pilot that I also doubt Caprica will be able to get anywhere near.

BSG is worth watching regardless of Caprica. But yeah, make sure you get the miniseries + all 4 seasons before starting, or you'll be left with cliffhangers. Razor isn't necessary but it's nice to have.
