Is there any way to remove the /heal function of the "*" key?

I asked this last year, but forgot if there was any solution.

Basically, I use the "*" key to autolock the camera on my target because it is as far as I know the only way to do it. However, SE is fucking retarded and decided that ctrl+h wasn't enough, and "*" should also make you kneel down if you're not targeting anything.

Because of this, I often rest accidently when I'm suposed to autotarget, and it's annoying.

Is there any way around it (with or without the windower)? I know I can bind something else to the key, but I don't know how to bind "autolock".

I think you should be able to change the key assignments under the config menu in FFXI. It should be under the same tab as making your keyboard compact or full.

Can't for this one, unless it was changed recently.

numlock? although I'd imagine that'd present a whole new set of problems if it even works

Problem here is there's no way to re-assign the target lock function if you rebind the key, otherwise rebinding the key would most likely do the trick (as OP mentioned).

It seems like the kind of thing that should be possible, just SE decided not to give us a command for it.

Edit: Nevermind, /lockon command does exist, joy to the world.

I use "h" for Autolock but it has the same effects if you're not targeted on anyone, i agree it's pretty annoying,

And numlock won't work. I'm pretty sure I tried it a while back.

Now if I could only figure out a way to do this for the L3 button on a PS2 controller (when using a PC).

I know I am probably going to get flamed (sp) for asking this question, but where exactly do you put this in the windower folder? Scripts?
