This pertains to the Siren server. I have heard reports of this going on in other servers as well.

There are RMT running around in Bastok Mines 24/7. Go look for yourself. They are creating new characters all day and night to pick them clean of the mere pittance of gil that they contain. They create a character, run it into an "open" moghouse of a party member, trade them the items, and delete the character. They have other characters who make the runs.. They run out of their mog, go to Proud Beard (the npc you can sell items to,) and then run to Leonie to get back into the shared moghouse. They don't seem to stop.. kind of like someone is controlling the characters in shifts.. I was bored so I stood around and observed them for about an hour last night. Please report these names to the special task force unit only after you have observed it for yourself and make your own judgment about their guilt or innocence.

This is easily explained by gardening. What you are seeing are folks who are selling NPC-able harvests. Bastok is the best choice since the closest NPC "store" is right outside the mog house. While I am sure RMTs have picked up on gardening, I am positive that there are also a good number of normal players setting up gardens as well.

Let them do that, is better than having them as competition for nms and such,
Then by all means do report.
There will always be RMT , Becouse people buys gil, and are the ones to blame.
So yea pick on the poor guy making 4k for every char they make without affecting you in anyway.
I support this kind of RMT.F@@K the gil buyers.

You must of not played during the inflation years. Little things like this is what causes it. If you don't believe me, ask anyone that used to fish up junk on purpose with bots and spam sell via NPC. Easy 100-200k/hr.

Inflation wasnt so bad,
Least you could farm decently.
and yea i been playing since PS2 version came out.
People need to get over that there will always will be rmt as long as people buys gil,
Hack IGE and report all the gil buyers, that would make me happy.
