LM-17 vs LM-11.

Hi guys. I normally just post in threads already made, but this is my first time making a thread. Now, I have a question in which I hope you guys can assist me.

I was wondering if anyone knows the difference in the LM-17 and LM-11 codes. Two days ago I was LM-11'd as seen here: http://img179.imageshack.us/img179/4905/oshilm11.jpg

Now as you can see this error does not say "PlayOnline services have been stopped" as most LM-11 codes do, I'm merely suspended. So I'm apparently not banned as of yet. My suspension ends at 4-17-09 PDT 00:00AM.

This suspension is for use of third party tools and because of such it's a 72PB with review for termination.

I've heard back and forth reports that LM-11 = permaban while others say it is not necessarily a permaban and that both codes can mean the same thing.

If I don't get banned, I will return here and post to clarify that LM-11 really does not always mean permaban, but if anyone else knows that for sure, please let me know.

Hopefully I can get a mature response to this and not "Oh my god you're using third party tools I hope you die and burn" or something like that.

I just had to do it ! But seriously, LM-11 is permaban and LM-17 is suspension till they investigate enough then decide to let you loose or make it a perma ban if their investigation shows some more goodies.

Previous to this I would have agreed with you. But the LM-11 permabans I've seen have always said "POL services have been closed." This one says suspended.

I think just recently SE changed the messages regarding LM-11 and LM-17. Someone got a LM-11 and it was just a suspension. I believe the LM-17 message states the account will not be unbanned.

LM-17 now says something about how under no circumstances will the account be unbanned. It's not ambiguous at all anymore about whether the ban is temporary or permanent. It clearly states that your shit is fucked.

This is wrong.

The events of Salvage bans are not dogma. I was temp banned 5x before perma and each temp was a LM-11. Perma was LM-17.

Answer is that it isn't static. Anyone who tells you otherwise doesn't have a fucking clue. Not that it is something to brag about but I think I have more experience with LM-xx than most here, so, the 1-strikers who got a random code aren't really qualified to talk about the randomness of it.

Edit: I was unaware of the change as well, this is all over the past few years. I guess it's not random anymore!

I think that differs. Temp LM-17's still give the "Your POL ID has been stopped" message, while direct TOS perma bans give the one you stated.

Yeah, like I said those kinds are issued for bans that aren't instantly perma. Like RMT/Salvage etc TOS bans.

I was recently LM-11 for using thirdparty tools (lol windower ban). And came back a few days later and Im back in. So I get the feeling LM-17 and LM-11 may have swapped places. Or maybe we all misunderstood what happened with the Salvage bans.

Had account info to an account that was LM-11 perma'd back in 2006 and still was LM-11 a few months ago, I just checked it and now shows LM-17. I'm guessing they converted some or all of the old LM-11 permas to LM-17s and are using 11 for temp bans now.

I fishbotted in Nashmau using FFXI-App.
I needed to shower so I hit stop on the bot.
When I came back I saw that I was logged out.
Logged in to Mordion Gaol, just as I thought.

I flustered,
I panicked,
I searched for my log.
I scanned it,
I read it,
I found what went wrong.

Never normally would I afk.
But something strange happened this day.

When I hit stop, the bot kept on running.
With flaws like this, is App worth the money?

I'm really not too worried, this account was on a separate CC.
But if this one is banned, that's a lot of extra work for me.
