4 combat merits for drk?

I have a warrior who has 8 axe 8 sword merits and I don't plan on dropping them because I love this combo and i consider it my "main" DD job. Will not/do not want to drop and be a gaxe war no matter how much people love it.

I recently leveled drk and need to know the best DD setup in this situation. Should I go 4 scythe merits or 4 GS merits? My weapons currently would be Tred scythe or algol. I've been told to use algol + GS merits since scythe is only better if you max it out at 8. Just wanted to post here and verify if that is truth or BS (I don't care which i use, just want to be the most productive in merits/dyna when I choose to go drk)

Scythe. a+ > a-, as well as Guillotine should be better than Spinning Slash on merit mobs (don't get me wrong; I love spinning slash... just not on merit mobs).

If you don't care about the best setup for your war, why do you care for your drk? Just go drk/nin and use axe+sword on drk too. Merit evasion.

If you insist on keeping dualwield an option, do 8 sword 8 GAX 4 scythe. In situations where dualwielding is a contender (weak stuff, Nyzul or city Dyna mobs for instance; you have to sub NIN anyway making GAX comparatively worse) Ridill/Joyeuse's better than Axe/Ridill. Anywhere you can sub SAM GAX wins hard. On anything hard GAX wins hard regardless of sub.

I don't want to hear "But I don't have a ridill". If that's your response, don't post it. I already have a headache.

does a war/nin with gaxe outparse a war/nin DW?

usually when I play war, i get pted with the suck people and i end up tanking. I've never actually gone gaxe, always felt war/nin better overall for merits because of not being a mp drain.

i'll consider going gaxe, but i love DW

It sort of does. Perhaps not against fairly weak stuff, though. /SAM definitely gives GAX the edge. Just go /SAM in merits <_<

If you're talking about meriting on colibri, axe/sword/g. axe merits are a moot point anyway. Just go /sam with a polearm

I can attest to this. It's hard to compete with that +25% acc/att from dex/str.

wat i meant sucks ass is it sucks ass in terms of number of hits required to 100% and no medidate and no hasso XD

as for it still better than dualwield, i dunno cos my war is sealed the day i got apoc :X

Yes, but it sucks compared to penta. And even against colibri it did worse for me than raging rush.

I can attest to this. It's hard to compete with that +25% acc/att from dex/str.

This is basically +15-25 atk/acc, depending on your +STR and +DEX.
