As title says, going to Paris in like 10 hours for the first time in my life. Got any tips?
I already wrote the following down:
- French people are cowards so daring them won't work
- They're French :/
Anything else would be appreciated.

When ordering fries at a resturant, make sure to call them Freedom Fries not French Fries.
Don't expect much in the way of help/courtesy. French people aren't rude, but parisians definitely are...not much different than NYC in that respect.
Generally speaking saying hi, or waving hello to random people you don't know is considered rude in France, unlike in the US where we often say "hi" to random people all the time. That's the only thing that really throws Americans off.
The Aviation Club. Go there.
stay away from arabs and somalis. Unless, you're a good talker, and want some drugs
go to the louvre, visit piaglle (its red district, baby..and thats where the moulin rouge is).
uuh, for cheap food, eat at turkish restaurants.
good luck, its fun fun fun there
Not sure if you're from flanders or wallonia, but if it's the former, don't worry too much about the level of your french. I can't speak for you, but when I went I was worried about it. They usually appreciate it and don't mind you stumbling over your words now and then.
Edit: Oh, and visit Quartier Latin if you can, been a few years since I went, but it's a nice area to stroll. Centre Pompidou is also pretty decent, but it's one of the most obvious places to visit, so you probably already know if it's something for you.
It's a lovely city, just a shame about the people who live there.
AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!When ordering fries at a resturant, make sure to call them Freedom Fries not French Fries.
Be sure to wear a kerchief around your neck & a beret to blend in.
I'm from Flanders, my French is at Jean Marie Pfaffs level so I'm just gonna speak my version of French/English/Dutch , I mix em all together and if they don't understand I'll try explaining with my feet or something. ^^

get ready to spend some serious money on food. i went there when euros were cheaper than dollars, and i still spent upwards to 50 euros a meal. wine is cheaper than water at convenience stores, though.
Well played.
Thanks for the tips, going to bed and then I'm off.
I went there when I was little. It's beautiful!! You will love it <3.
