Melisandre seems totally different from what I pictured. Mannerisms aside, I though she had a somewhat darker complexion?

I imagine the characters as being much older when reading the series, but they're actually all very young. That being said, Davos and Stannis still need to be switched.

I'm totally okay with it, makes sense to me for a few spoilery reasons. They've done such a good job on the whole with casting that I'm not really willing to get nitpicky about anything unless they turn out to be horrible at their character.

Shae I will agree with, but I dunno I always saw Stannis with a huge napoleon complex. A tiny little man who is super mad that his brother took his GI Joe when he was little and has been living his whole life with all that hatred and angst. Maybe that changes sometime after the mid point of book 3 which is where I am.

What were people's problems with Shae? I watched the show before reading the books, but I didn't remember anything glaringly wrong with her after reading the books. Spoiler if necessary.

In the show, Shae is deliberately portrayed as a mysterious, exotic woman who defies all of Tyrion's expectations of a whore.
