So I finally finished watching Neon Genesis Evangelion and I want more to be honest. The whole thing was just so great with a great ending that I want more so bad! Is there anything else Evangelion to watch or is that it?

End of Evangelion is the only movie you should really bother with, if you haven't seen it already (not sure what was included when you said 'finished').

Though god knows how long it will take for us to get a quality version with subs.

The ending was so terrible she had to make movies with alternate endings just to make people happy.

On another note, there's the new movies coming out which are done in high def and it's a retelling of the old story with new scenes and an alternate ending (again). First movie is out it's called Evangelion 1.0 You Are (Not) Alone

The second movie is Evangelion: 2.0 You Can (Not) Advance released June 27th

3 & 4 will be a dual movie probably won't be out until 2011.


I do recommend watching 1 though, it's app. episodes 1-6 and a lot of the stuff is CGI in it. Watch the other movies first though with the other endings.

I haven't watched the rebuilt movies yet as what stopped me reading one website they keeping the masterbating scene and alternate ending is just having the new character die same way any truth to those rumors? I don't want to be disappointed again :/

Considering the preview for the second movie already provided a whole different discrepancy from the original series, sounds like it'd just be rumor.

They're adding at least 2 new Eva unit, 1 of them implied being Kaworu's.

The ending was confusing as fuck for me. I didn't like it at all to be honest... For the type of anime it is it just didn't fit.

I really want another season/series of evangelion if that happens I will fly over just to hug her and squeeze her until she dies. :D!

What the fuck is there to expand on a new season of evangelion?

The third impact happened, everybody fucking dies, all the evas are either destroyed or...destroyed

Only possible expansion would be the alternate universe that was previewed on the instrumentality, though if you want that, there are at least 2 official manga that covers that, and god knows how many doujins.

The manga by Yoshiyuki Sadamoto is restarting again next month or so for its final volume worth of chapters, hopefully with a different ending.

Original ending happened because the ran out of money before finishing the series, so they had to use minimal animation, which is why it sucked. You're not supposed to like them.

But ya watch the end of evangelion movies they're "suppposed" to be what gainax wanted to do initially, but couldn't afford at the time.

She? Do you mean Hideaki Anno? Also The rebuilds are definitely not remakes, they are continuing off of The End of Evangelion.

I think everyone came back from the sea of LCL, in EoE Shinji's mother said that anyone can come back from the sea as long as they have strong hearts. The sea is still red at the opening scene of rebuild 1.0 and there is so much evidence of it. Also the original Adam was replaced with a fake, the real one is on the moon with Kaworu lolll, I can't wait to see how this all ends.

Going to say some unpopular shit here. I loved Eva...for about 8 or so episodes. Then things get bad, really really bad, mostly because the cast of characters become the most unsympathetically loathsome creatures in the history of animation. Then the robot fights started getting all gimmicky: Punch the shadow! Do a fucking ballet before you punch the center of both Giant Enemy Blobs! Chuck that spear! I get that the series is trying to make a point about emotionally distant human beings but that doesn't excuse some pretty unrealistic motivations for their actions.

Well the characters were supposably based off of shit in Anno's life, he was on heavy drugs at the time, and I am pretty sure EoE is proof of that. It's insane how you take a cast of characters people sort of learn to love and hate, then just take them apart and destroy them.

OK i guess i'll give the rebuilt a chance once second movie is out on Torrent i'll watch both I hope to hell we don't get another Lets kill everyone ending. I don't think Eva was terrible at all I liked the change from light comedy to darker mind fuckery but masterbating scene+ending was just pushing it for best anime at the time.
