i still believe in it because it simply makes more sense if its true. Also, because the actualy story writer did not come out and deny this. I think they asked sakaguchi, but as if he knows crap about whats happening.
I'd say the validity of such an assumption is about the same as people's assumptions that FFVII and FFX are connected by the Shinra side-story of sorts.
Its not official, but is implied in such a way that you can believe that it is, or the writer wants to believe that it is.. but can't outright say it.

I'm going with Lilisette = Lilith but from different futures. Lilith probably comes from the alternate reality future where the beastmen actually won the war (as seen in the "visions")

This is the most probably theory in my eyes. If its not actually HER from the future (Which would have to be -after- our time, since Lilisette is Young during our time), Its gotta be someone related to her, Mother, Sister, etc. I mean, Just look at the update note pictures... Side by side, They look like the same damn person, The hair, The Face patern, Lilith even has the little "DNC" hand stockin crap on.

If they're not the same person, they're related, no two ways about it and if you can't read between those lines, you got problems (This last line is directed at you spira)

There are two instances where Lehko asks you to time travel, strongly implying that he is well aware that you can do it but he is unable to do it himself.

1) There's the time he asks you to get the special bullets from Metalworks
2) There's the time he sends you to the 8-sided chamber

In one of those instances (I forget which) he says (paraphrasing) "It's time for you to help us in a way that only you can." This especially implies that Lehko cannot go himself. If Robel-Akbel can time travel, Lehko is either unaware, or perhaps Robel-Akbel was simply not available at the time (when you're working on the bullets thing, it's just you and Lehko).

is he is not Robel-Akbel and he is someone else who's trying to change the past. We know from the last quest line that he's trying to save someone, but we're not sure who.

How do we know there's a traitor Cait Sith? I don't recall them discussing it.
