If its ours avatar and nothing else for smn, odds are we wont know till the day if they do a update teaser. Diablos 50 years back was announced the day of the update with no update teaser about it.

I got my entry denied too, without ANY reason ... and they didn't even told me I would be disqualified until today's notice.

That's how I feel. They hype job updates and then offer one kind-of update to Ninja and a bone to BLU's and whatever they do to circles, which will probably be reducing to 5min recast and adding some additional effect. Nothing to get exceited over.

I'm guessing they're putting a lot of effort towards XIV to get it ready for that promised Sept beta.

There is no promised Sept beta. There is a (weakly) surmised Sept beta.

I do agree that they probably have shifted a bunch of people over to XIV, but that just means they need to hire more people, not give us half updates.

Considering the crap we write daily about this game, a story contest isn't, in itself, stupid. It's just that Stratics is. BG's had its own Art contests before, why not take this opportunity to show up everyone again by proving its literary superiority?

As long as BG remains BG, it'll never get any kind of mention from SE on an official update notice. But that's never stopped BG before and isn't a reason to stop now. On with the contest I say!

I never thought of writing a story around a game you enjoy was dorky, Its not any more dorky than waking up wondering what you plan on doing on the video game that day.

In one situations your thinking it, in the other your writing it down...

In a world of horrible analogies, that one is really bad.

Thinking about playing a video game is in no way the same thing as writing about a fantasy based on a video game. It's a whole new level of dork. That level of dork also includes cosplay. They snuggle with each other at night, whispering sweet notions of yaoi and tentacle rape.

It is a world separate even from those that play Magic: The Gathering and pen and paper D&D.
