Yea, the high mileage is part of the reason I want to sell, also because I need something that can pull a heavier load. In the past 3 years I've put front brakes and rotors on it, rear brake pads, and an idle air controller (Along with oil changes, air filters, etc.). I'm a mechanic by trade so I know how to keep a vehicle running, just looking to upgrade to something bigger (F150).

For all the flack Explorers got back in the day, they are really good cars. I have a 92 that is over 500k miles. It got a junkyard engine at 300k and a junkyard tranny at 315k. Even though I never drive it anymore I keep it around cause it is paid for and starts every time. Cant beat old reliable.

Can't agree more with the quality that ford has on most of their vehicles. My dad has a 90' Crown Victora LTD that I used to drive, and it still is mostly factory stock parts.

Is happening. If you even give half a shit about engine maintenance, any SBC engine will last forever. Hell, even the old 700R4's were pretty bulletproof too.

Go be anti-domestic somewhere else. And in before you call a relative's lemon as your proof. Sorry, manufacturing problems do and will happen to anything, domestic or foreign. The SBC is world famous for reliability.

Gov't put it on suspension as there is something like 250,000 cars pending already and they are worried about running out of funds.
