Yeah, that's typical SE style to show most in Tokyo, but having the producer in Germany might change some of it. Let's hope at least. Yes, I'm anxious :D

What makes you think theres going to be a special presentation for XIV, bercus? Square isn't even on the gamescom list of conferences, as far as my understanding was its just going to be a walkup booth for the duration.
Square Enix at gamescom // Press Release
Ctrl + F
Type Special Presentation
So it'll be the 19th. Since Germany is about 6-9 hours ahead of the U.S.. about 55 hours till gamescom then!
Due to some Mrs. Community Manager not replying to Interview request
I will not spend 150€ on "We will look into it!" or "We can not provide you any information
regarding this at this point". On top of that I need to safe up all my days off for October (baby time). Speculation if game will be playable or not is too much risk for 1-2 days offf. Sorry ;_;. I will attend next year though.
Might help to check the linksource I posted and CRTL/F for "Fantasy"What makes you think theres going to be a special presentation for XIV, bercus? Square isn't even on the gamescom list of conferences, as far as my understanding was its just going to be a walkup booth for the duration.
Since European games conventions have never been a place for SE to release good information I am with you here .I have a feeling they're going to release most of the details at the TGS. However, I wouldn't doubt they'd show a nice chunk of info at Gamescon, because apparently you can see it live...I'm hoping for at least a good customization demo. lol
A group of 5 friends of mine will be attending the Gamescom, so any information they have will be with me shortly to post. (thank the iPhone ) There is also Sven from Onlinewelten attending so I am sure a good interview from him and JP Media will be posted within a day or two.
Since this is the a EU event they probably will just give out the same info the released on the JP and NA site, and then update the EU site. Seeing as they are holding off on updated the EU site they could actually be planing on doing that.
Saving all the good stuff for TGS probably.
I would believe that if they didn't say
"Special Presentation of FFXIV" and they are flying the producer of the game to Germany.
Why would they do that if they were just providing already known information?
I'm flying down to Germany and Gamescom tomorrow! Woohoo.
But yeah, I'm a PR guy myself and I know how they can spin things. Calling it a 'special presentation' can mean a bunch of things, but most likely we'll actually get to see some interesting things!
Tomorrow's the day. I hear Sony/MS are going to have press conferences, that should be interesting too.
Yeah, I'm curious what they're about to announce as well.
is there going to be a live streaming event E3-style or somesuch this time around as well?
EDIT: I was referring to SquareEnix press conference of course.
Probably not. Gamescom doesn't have the budget of E3. Just stay tuned to your favorite gaming news site and read their liveblogs.
Someone on the FF XIV wiki posted this as a live streaming site:
