That game literally fucking drove you nuts and I spent an entire day as a child trying to get to the end. Then you finally beat it and you are ready to just pass out in pure joy ... then they kick you in the nuts so hard they end up next to your Adam's Apple and you just wish you had a knife to slit your wrists.

Worst game experience for me as a kid, hate that game to this day. Ruined my goddamn childhood.

Why do these news outlets think PW is harder than AV? Sure pre-nerf PW lasted 18 hours, but it was killable at least. AV lasts about 10 mins and then just wipes you.

I laugh at Algalon being up there on that list. I don't know half the games, but Contra/PW is certainly more difficult than Algalon. I suppose overall it's still mighty difficult, but we have at least a few on this forum who has beaten Algalon. Not to take away from those here who have done it, but I find it funny that people who've spent 5-10 hours attempting Algalon over 5-10 weeks are put within the same galaxy as those who spent 18 consecutive hours on a boss, with the former winning and latter not.

Because a linkshell fighting a game monster for 18 hours is much more sensational news than every group dying to a monster within 10 mins.

the only thing challenging about algalon is only having an hour a week to work on him once you even get to him. If you could stay there and learn him for hours and hours like people did other bosses he'd be downed by everyone that's working hard modes
